Napaul Publishers, Inc. December 21, 2012 CARMODY FORD HOLDS FUNDRAISER FOR LOCAL BOY Carmody Ford, located in Greenwich, NY, held their second annual Drive for a Causefundraiser on November 16 th and 17 th to help raise money for local six year old boy, Casey Wolff. This past April, Casey was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease, a disease that causes kidney failure and can only be treated with dialysis or transplant. In August, Casey had both kidneys removed at Childrens Hospital in Boston. With numerous trips to and from Albany Medical Center since then, Casey received a phone call on October 5th fromAlbany Medical stating that they had found a donor for him. He had his transplant performed back at Childrens Hospital in Boston and is recovering well! With medical bills and transportation costs accumulating, Carmody Ford held the two day benefit to raise funds to assist the Wolff family. A grand total of $2,255 was raised and donated to the Casey Wolff Medical Fund. The amount raised was a combined effort between $5 donations by the dealer for every test drive that took place during the event, $50 for every vehicle sold, and raffle ticket sales. Raffle and auction items were kindly donated by local businesses and the community, including: Espressohuis Restaurant, Saratoga Apple, True Value of Hoosick, Over Time Antiques & More, Capital Tractor, Penny Wise, Ruby Nimble Thimble, John Deere, Jeans Place,Old Saratoga Wine & Spirits, Greenwich House of Pizza, Schuylerville Pizza & Pasta, Subway of Greenwich, Lauren Turczak of Party Lite, Poppys Girls, YMCA of Greenwich, Weaver Mobil, Thruway Beverage, King Arthur Flour, Phil Giroux, Cars.com, Auto Trader, Advanced Auto of Greenwich, RBS Citizens, Byrons Market, Glens Falls National, Green Acres Tavern, Margaret Roberson, Boneyard BBQ, The Sales Team at Carmody Ford (JC Carmody, Mike Savage, Nick Vooris, JesseyGargano, Craig Kyer, Todd Distazio, Chris Weir, Rick McEachron, and Mark Robillard), Aubuchon Hardware, The Ice Cream Man, and Hannaford Supermarket. The event also featured a cook-out courtesy of Boneyard BBQ, a bounce house for children, and music courtesy of 2 local radio stations that were on site for live remotes. What a great turnout!said JC Carmody, President of Carmody Ford.It was wonderful to watch the community come together and help raise funds for little Casey, stated Carmody. A big thank you to the local businesses for their generous contributions in helping us raise funds for Casey Wolff Medical Fund. UNCLE WALLY WONDERS

CATCHING WILD PIGS There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had one exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed the young man, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime. In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?" The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said that it was no joke. "You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free corn. "When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. "They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. "The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon, they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity." The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America .. The government keeps pushing us toward Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops ( CRP ), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time. I wonder, will we wake up before they slam the gate on us? It doesnt appear so. UNCLE WALLY WONDERS

Every year at this time nominations for the Ancil Payne Awards for Ethics in Journalism are accepted by The University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. This Annual award recognizes American journalists and news organizations that demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to ethics. During a time when, according to a new Gallup poll, less than a quarter of the American public gives journalists high marks for honesty and ethics, it is even more important to recognize those who embody those very values, said Tim Gleason, Dean of the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. In 2012, Ancil Payne Awards were given to freelance journalists Matthew LaPlante and Rick Egan for their efforts to document the ritual killing of cursed children in Ethiopias South Omo River Valley, and to the Yancey County News, a weekly newspaper in rural Burnsville, North Carolina which, in 15 months of operation, established itself as a check on corrupt local law enforcement. The Ancil Payne Awards accepts entries from news organizations and professional and student journalists in broadcasting, print, or digital media. Journalists and outlets can nominate themselves or be nominated by a third party. Nominations for the Ancil Payne Awards are limited to material published, broadcast, or posted in the United States, or decisions made by journalists or news organizations based in the United States. Nominations can be submitted online at http:// journalism.uoregon.edu/payneawards/forms_criteria and are due no later than February 28, 2013. In the opinion of this writer, there can be NO LEGITIMATE NOMINATIONS this year. For obvious reasons. There are NO ETHICS in Journalism any more. For the most part, the so-called main stream media, be it print, TV or radio, is controlled and staffed by leftists with an unstated but obvious leftist bias. As a counter to their unstated bias is the Conservative media, more honest about its bias, and therefore, more ethical in its practises, but, non the less biased. I wonder if our media will ever return to reporting fascts rather than opinions. I think not. We will have to be eye witnesses to everything in order to know the truth. In that respect, the I-phone (and its competitors) may be our only truth detector.

CATAPULT BUILT- Students at The Adirondack School of Northeastern New York build a trebuchet (catapult) as part of Special Interest Week at the School. This years special interest was The Medieval Period which was incorporated into all of the students lessons. The trebuchet was built from blueprints, using no power tools. They also performed a medieval play, had a medieval style feast and created a board game based upon the times. The Adirondack School of Northeastern New York is committed to offering our students a progressive, stimulating and integrated curriculum which blends critical thinking, artistic expression, and practical achievement where they work in an atmosphere of mutual respect, providing them with leadership and communication skills for their future. We have a rolling admission; please visit us at www.adirondackschool.org or call 518-695-5294 for more information.

THE SALEM AREA WOMANS CLUB held its monthly meeting at the Mackenzie Chapel in the Salem Presbyterian Church. The meeting began with a Holiday Tea hosted by Chairman Alesis Hinger, and Carol Brownell, Dottie St.Onge, Kathie Roby and Audrey Hall-Seelye assisting. President Lois Sheaff led the meeting. She was happy to report that Walmart had answered her request for a donation toward Womens Health Day. Tagged Santa Project boxes or bags of health and beauty products were returned by members and will combine with local organizations to make the holidays brighter for 35 area families. The Womans Club received a request from Maura Rapp who is spearheading Salem Schools new Backpack Program to combat student hunger and support healthy weekend meals for Salem students. The members voted to send a donation. The Salem Area Womans Club received a certificate signed by the General Federation International President acknowledging the Clubs 90 years of continuous community support. Willie Linendoll and Friends presented this months program. Members delighted in listening to the students clear voices and harmonies as they sang lovely Christmas carols. Most were sung acappella, with several accompanied by guitar or I-pod. Pictured here with Willie are Salem High School students Hannah DeGarmo, Katie Myler, Mackenzie Dumas and Jana Broderick. Members were reminded that there is no January meeting for the Womans Club. The February meeting is the annual covered dish event. A brief committee meeting was held at the conclusion of the regular meeting to begin preparation for the upcoming 2013 Womens Health Day.
