Mandala Artist Statement Who ever thought that you would be able to answer the question who am I? without words? Will I thought that I wouldnt be able, until I did it in my mandala. At first I got some pictures that were special to me and then I got pictures with quotes I like. When I put them together it answered the question. My mandala shows want I want to do in the future. It also has the people and things that are special to me. In the following list below I will explain why the pictures are there. 1. The picture in the middle with my family is significant to me because they have been there for me in the ups and downs, and if it werent for them I wouldnt be who I am. 2. The picture of the blue house is my grandparents house. That house is important to me because when I was little I would always spend a lot of my time there in my vacations. 3. The picture of the ring is special to me because that ring was given to me by my grandma. 4. I chose the picture of the bench because when i was little i use to go to the park a lot. 5. I chose the quote of Anne frank I think a lot, but I dont say much because that describes me. It describes me because I think a lot but I always keep it to myself. 6. The picture of the beach is in my mandala because when I was little I use to live by the beach and I would spend a lot of time there. 7. The picture of the Eiffel tower is in my mandala because Ive always wanted to travel to Paris. 8. Theres a picture of a turtle because turtles are a shy animal and i am a shy person 9. I chose the quote determination today leads to success tomorrow beca i try hard to be successful in the future. 10. The picture colorful houses and lake is in the mandala because I've always wanted to travel to Spain. 11. The photo with the map and the words life is a journey is in the mandala because life is a journey, because you never know what will happen and to find out you will have to explore the world. 12. The drawing of the beach is significant to me beach when I was younger I use to go to the beach with my family. 13. I put the picture of the little island because I want to travel the world.

Even though that the pictures dont represent all of who I am, they do represent a part of who I am. When I see my mandala I feel accomplished for putting the things that represents part of me and the important people and things in my life even though I doubted I was going to be able to do it.
