Requirements Role Goals To enhance student achievement To bridge the gap between student teaching and the teaching career Leadership Professional role model Coach Liaison, Facilitator, Relationship builder Support 60 documented teacher support hours before, during and after school Meet weekly with mentees Attend New Teacher Induction, July 25 -27, 2012 (Dates subject to change) Provide Demonstration Classroom, July 27, 2012, 8:00am-12:00pm at base school Commit to on-going professional development Complete PD360 Cognitive Coaching learning pathway with reflection questions (9 segments) Attend mandatory summer training: Veteran Coaches May 30 or July 17, 2012; 9:00am 10:00am (enroll in MLP) New Coaches May 30 or July 17, 2012; 10:30am - 12:30pm (enroll in MLP) Attend 2 one-hour mandatory training sessions during the 2012-2013 school year: (Tentative Dates: September and January) Attend additional training as deemed necessary Meet regularly with PIT Crew member Complete monthly documentation in My Learning Plan Complete first/second semester reflection pieces Complete and submit federal paperwork Conduct monthly classroom observations Conduct 2 Cognitive Coaching Cycles Facilitate bi-monthly peer observations Model effective best practices Maintain confidentiality

Learning Coach Application 2012-2013

Considering the above attributes, write a brief narrative (minimum 1 page, maximum 2 pages) that details why you feel you are best equipped to offer support to new teachers in the role of Learning Coach. Submit your application narrative to your building principal and forward a copy of your narrative, with signature page, to Annette Wade at Central Office, room 110.
