PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS TO THE AUTO-TEST CHECKING ROUTINE:

Connect a 20A/AC reading scale 2 digits Digital Ammeter, in series to one of the phases of the mains current, on the mains wire of the appliance. What above will allow the check of the good functionality of the electromechanical components, when fed during the carrying out of the Auto-test sequence. Carefully empty the drum of the washing machine, because during the carrying out of the Auto-test sequence, the anti-unbalancement safety usually provided by the software is disabled. Set the Program Selector's Knob (Ref. 2 in Picture 1) on the OFF position. 2) ACTIVATION OF THE SELF-DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE:

Push and hold the FIRST Option Button with LED top right (ref. 1 in Picture 1). Turn the Program's Selector Knob 2 steps in clockwise sense (ref. 2 in Picture 1). After about 5 seconds, release the FIRST Option Button with LED to the left (ref. 1 in Picture 1). If the previous procedure was correctly carried out, all LEDs are turned ON simultaneously (see Picture 2).

Water is loaded to fulfill the "basic" level of 6 liters, through the Detergent's Compartment for Pre-wash (I). 1 second of pause. It's now fed for 20 seconds, the Water Heating Element (~8 A on the Digital Ammeter). Timed water load is carried out through the Detergent's Compartment for Main Wash (II). It's fed the Motor for the tumbling of the Drum in Anticlockwise sense at 55 rpm and for the time of ~ 16 seconds. Pause of the Motor for ~ 4 seconds. The timed water load continues, as in the previous paragraph.

Are simultaneously fed the Solenoid Valve for Water Load through the Washing Compartment (II) and the Motor for the tumbling of the Drum in Clockwise sense at 55 rpm, for the time of ~ 12 seconds. In the last seconds of this phase, the timed water load is done with the simultaneous feeding of both Solenoid Valves, to end it trough the Detergent's Compartment for Softener ( ).

It's fed the Drain Pump, until "empty tank" Pressostat's condition. It's carried out a Short Spin Phase, lasting ~ 15 seconds, at the half of the maximum speed available and then the Self-diagnostic sequence is ended. At the end of the sequence of Auto-test, all LEDs that were turned ON during the Self Diagnosis, will flash together.

4) DISPLAYING OF THE ERROR CODES: Same as it happens for all electronically controlled Washing Machines produced by the Candy Group, all appliances of the "OPTIMA" series are equipped with an advanced software, capable of immediately recognizing the presence of the most serious functional troubles. In such a case, the currently carried out washing cycle is halted and the Control Panel displays the related Error Code. The Error Code is displayed through the FLASHING of the FIRST OPTION LED TOP RIGHT. The LED flashes a number of times corresponding to the ERROR NUMBER, then stays OFF for 5 seconds and the sequence is repeated, until the next User's intervention: R.G.

In case an Error Code is displayed and the machine is halted. To restart the machine it's necessary to move the Program's Selector Knob to the OFF position. Then, if water is still present in the tank, select the "DRAIN" position and wait for the drain phase to be ended. Eventually move the Program's Selector to OFF. Wait for 2 seconds and select a new washing program. If the previously found trouble should now be missing, the set washing cycle is carried out to it's natural ending. On the contrary, the same Error Code as previous (or a different one) will be displayed, and the Machine is halted. Making reference to the above resuming table of the available Error Codes, we like to remind the importance of the perfect continuity of the electric wiring and of the related connectors, when dealing with electronic controls of the "Core" family. This is both true for the contacts on the Control Board then for the corresponding contacts on the controlled peripherals (Program's Selector, Display Board, Drain Pump etc.). A partial oxidation of some connector's contacts on the "Core" Control Board or on the connected peripherals, could generate the displaying of a peripheral related Error Code, even being the involved peripheral in perfect conditions. Therefore, we suggest to carefully check the related wiring, before any replacement of the "Core" Control Board and before replacing any of the related peripherals. A valid check of the wiring can be performed by removing the connectors from their location (both on the Control Board then on the related Peripheral) and by spraying inside the same connectors a small amount of Contact Cleaner liquid.
