TASK 9 FORMAL PROPOSAL

Title of magazine I have chosen to name my magazine Noise; this is because its short and catchy, also can be referred having up to do date trends, as it is an catchy and memorable term that is very familiar with my target audience. It also has the connotations of being rather catchy and grabs the attention of the audience, being a one word phrase. Choice of genre I have chosen pop/chart-music as my genre, as I already have background knowledge within the genre, also as it is my personal interest in music. This is since I have always had an interest in this type of music, as it reflects my personality and style. I am also a fan and have just started buying Billboard Magazine as it. My Target audience This type of music has a large and varied audience to it, with my magazine though I am trying to aim it towards a male audience who are interested in this type of music. Initial ideas for Front Cover For my front cover, I am planning to use a group shot of a Male band, they can wear casual clothes also to reflect the type of music that they are creating. I have also decided that the title of the magazine will be at the top and will be large and bold with an eye-catching colour to catch the attention of the audience. Furthermore for the sell lines, I would like it to be related to the artist on the front cover. Initial ideas for My Contents page For my contents page,, there will be 1 dominant image of the group of boys in it, followed by 3 smaller images, to show other features in the magazine. I will also be adding an editors note to my readers. I will be brief accounts of what will be in the magazine. Initial ideas for my article For the double page spread, I intent to do an interview with the cover group (but Ill make sure they looks very different to the cover image . It will not be dominantly text and images, this way reader are able to find out her personality by giving a visual representation. I will do this by having a large image that dominant the article which is followed by text all around it also.

Initial ideas for photographs The front cover photography, I have decided to show the males in it. For the contents I will use the dominant image of an medium shot of the artist/s. For the contents page also I will have a main image that will run down the side of the contents page next to the text from the magazine. Lastly for the double page spread, I will use a main image in my camera shots, to express the artist in the interview, Furthermore I have used these shot types, as they most commonly found within hip hop magazines. I will like to use surroundings also that link in with my music style that I am using.
