IS-11353 GENERAL CONSTRUCTION The panels shall be designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with the latest versions of the related applicable standards and as per the specifications issued by you. The panels shall be of modular design with a horizontal busbar compartment running at the top and the cable entry shall be from the bottom. The outgoing feeders shall be arranged in multi-tier mode. The panel front shall contain individually enclosed ACB /MCCB / STARTER modules. All of the electrical accessories shall be mounted on the front side of the panels with facility to remove/refit from the front side. Completely enclosed vertical busbars shall be provided for feeding to the feeder modules. Complete metallic partition sheets shall be provided between any two adjacent vertical panels or horizontal feeders. All feeder chambers and the cable chamber shall be provided with hinged doors. For the bus bar chamber, the doors shall be of bolted type. Suitable cable core clamping arrangement shall be provided in the cable alley/chamber. Each feeder compartment shall be provided with suitable nameplate showing the panel details like STARTER/SFU/MCCB rating. All live parts shall be shrouded with non-deteriorating insulating barrier to prevent against accidental contact. FABRICATION DETAILS An integral metal base channel of 75x40mm size shall be provided. All of the Gland plates shall be of 2.5mm (12SWG) CR. Sheet. 2.0mm (14 SWG) CR shall be used for fabrication of the main frame of the panel and hinged doors. 1.6mm (16 SWG) CR. Sheet shall be used for compartmental partitions inside the panel board.

Neoprene gasket shall be provided for the doors to prevent dust and vermin entry. Suitable ventilation louvers shall be provided onto the vertical and horizontal busbar chambers to facilitate free circulation of air. Suitable brass meshes shall be fitted to prevent entry of vermin. The door hinges shall be of concealed type. Removal of any hinged door without disturbing any of the adjacent modules shall be possible. All the punching jobs shall be carried out in the CNC MACHINES. PAINTING All sheet steel parts shall be subjected to a finishing process of chemical degreasing, pickling, and phosphating by 7 tank process. Thorough rinsing shall be carried out after phosphating before powder coating. The panel shall be finally finished with powder coating. The thickness of the powder film shall be 60-70 microns. The powder-coated panel shall be baked in oven at 180 degree C for duration of 15/20 seconds. The finishing of the completed panel shall be elegant and enduring. BUS BARS Three phase and neutral Aluminium busbars of E91E grade shall be provided. They shall be of uniform cross section throughout the panel with a current density of 80 Amps per square centimeter. Tough, non-hygroscopic shall support the busbar conductors; resin bonded self extinguishing fire retardant insulators of SMC/DMC type firmly fitted to the framework of the panel. Suitable color coded heat shrinking sleeves shall be provided for the busbar conductors with color coding. Provision for expansion with necessary hardware and fishplates shall be provided in the horizontal busbar chamber on both extreme ends of the panel. The contact surface for joints shall always be maintained above the width of the bars. Cadmium plated high-tension bolts and nuts shall be used for the joints. washers shall be used for sustaining the contact pressure. Spring

White petroleum jelly shall be applied on the joint surfaces before joining for preserving the efficiency of the joints. The following minimum clearances shall be maintained in the panel. Between two phases : 25mm Between phase & earth : 25mm Between phase & neutral : 25mm Between neutral & earth : 19mm All the live bus bars shall be covered with transparent acrylic sheets / FRP. sheet.

EARTHING Earth busbars of minimum 300 Sqmm size shall be provided throughout the length of the panel. Within the panel board all the switchgear bodies shall be duly connected to the earth busbars. Provision for connection to the plant earth grid shall be provided at both the ends of the panel. All hinged doors with electrical accessories shall be provided with flexible copper earth connections. WIRING Power Wiring shall be carried out with minimum 2.5 Sqmm size of 660/1100V grade multistrand single core copper flexible wires.
