Profile Overview of the organization iTELL (K) PROJECT is a youth managed organization working within Changamwe District, and located at Changamwe Youth Centre created with the main aim of building the capacity of members and that of the community. We have more than ten members who are dedicated towards realizing the organizational objectives. The organization is registered with the Ministry of Gender Youth & Social services. MISSION To empower the community in skill-based practices to give rise to an informed and self reliant generation. VISION A development conscious generation, able to express and contribute positively in the holistic developmental process. OBJECTIVES a) To offer trainings to the community/members on skill-based practices such as theatre, ICT and hand-work among other forms of art. b) Empowering members through provision of easy access to information c) Empowering members in ICT to develop sustainable livelihood. d) Cater for the welfare of members in information, health, and capacity building e.t.c. Our Achievements 1. Computer Training: Through ICT trainings (computer classes) we focus on empowering the members/community to develop sustainable livelihoods. Through our computer project we have trained 30 members on computer packages in the last 2 months. We still have an additional 20 who are yet to complete their trainings. We have also trained more than 300 participants from within Changamwe district, in collaboration with Digital Opportunity Trust, regarding basic ICT skills, Business skills

and livelihood. In pursuit of our dream, the organization we had a grand graduation for all our community participants who passed through DOT and iTELL (K) PROJECT computer training. The event took place at Changamwe Youth counseling on Saturday 15th December 2012. Art empowerment initiative Our aim is to develop the skills of the Kenyan youths in various talents to empower them in realizing sustainable livelihood. Practical skills is core to realizing sustainability in the modern world, and especially in a community that is facing joblessness. the organization has initiated a project dubbed V-Pawa Arts that aims at offering trainings to the community members in Theatre (music, dance & drama); staging shows aimed at educating and entertaining the community on issues such as reproductive Health, Governance and leadership e.t.c. Changamwe Youth Football Academy is also one of our initiatives started to promote the talents of young boys within Changamwe district aged 13-15 years Core Values 1. TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT CENTRE Proposal


As the country heads towards the realization of vision 2030, iTELL KENYA organization has embarked on a long term project that will see the Kenyan society develop positively in technology. iTell Kenya has been offers trainings on the following areas of focus to members of the community: ICT skills: Computer Packages Basic s Techniques in Social networking Online Research Techniques Our team of qualified professionals has ensured that we give skill based trainings that are community oriented to achieve sustainable livelihoods which is a prerequisite for overall development as envisaged in Vision 2030. Being aware of the socio-economic constraints in Changamwe district, and Kenya as a whole, iTELL Kenya offers cheap and affordable computer trainings that are tailored towards solving individual needs of members of the community. We work with schools, community-based organizations, youth groups, faith-based organizations and the general community to empower Kenyans on developing sustainable livelihood projects. ICT Training The organization has seen the need to educate, coach train and empower the community in ICT by offering cheaper and customized trainings on computer packages. Our focus groups include Youths in schools Out of school youths Formal/ Working class Informal class/entrepreneurs We believe that technology is the key in achieving world class socio-economic sustainability in Africa. Basic knowledge in the world of technology, computer is therefore mandatory to remain relevant in the modern world. Computer Packages: Through this endeavor, we are offering classes on Microsoft applications and packages. Our organization is offering computer classes to women; men; and children/youths in primary and secondary schools: Our trained team of youths offer coaching, tutoring and mentorship services to help youths keep up with modern technology. We are also training the general community on the ten Microsoft packages with a view to spread development to the entire Changamwe and Kilindini Districts. Basic s Techniques in Social networking: Social Networking has been considered an up and coming tool in communication/interaction and marketing. The organization therefore sees a need to empower the community in this emerging field; therefore we offer basic skills in social networking to enable participants communicate effectively with their wider audience, and to also enable entrepreneurs carryout online marketing as they aim to capture a wider market, share experiences, research on modern trends e.t.c. Online Research Techniques: Most organizations, institutions and individuals worldwide are on the verge of minimizing paper work with an aim of realizing environmental conservation. In this regard, modern education and information materials are stored and read online. This in effect has realized faster and effective retrieval of information, and also effective information sharing. iTELL KENYA is therefore equipping participants with modern researching techniques/skills that would allow them compete in the world of information and education.

To realize the above vision, we have the goodwill of the community, the commitment and expertise of the youthful members, and the mind to dream. Our greatest limitations however lay in lack of finance as we have all along relied on individual contribution and sacrifice from our founding members.
