Waterside access is provided by (2) 3 x 4 handholes located in front tubesheet near the bottom of the shell in addition to (2) handholes on the bottom centerline. (1) 3 x 4 handhole or (1) 12 x 16 manway on the top centerline and (1) 3 x 4 handhole in the rear tubesheet.

All Superior Boiler Works units are manufactured to ASME code requirements with each unit inspected by a National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessels registered inspector.

Demand 3/4 thick tubesheets and 9/l6 minimum tube hole ligament to decrease the possibilities of ligament cracks, warped and overheated tubesheet and better tube holding capabilities.

Full Front Tubesheet access is provided by split/davited doors. No electrical or fuel connections or linkage need be disconnected for Top of page access to the fireside. Front smokebox and doors are lined with ceramic fiber blanket.

Steam boilers _ large disengaging area and dry plate (High Pressure) or dry pan (Low Pressure) at the steam outlet assures high quality, dry steam.

Superior Wetback design incorporates the furnace at the lowest section of the boiler. Resulting in enhanced natural water circulation; which reduces the possibility of over-heating and formation of hot spots.

Standard Features: Units designed and fabricated to ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code requirements. Section IV-15 psig, Section I 150 psig. Insulated with 2-8 lb. Density mineral fiber insulation. Jacket material 22-gauge galvanized-phosphate coated steel. Davited front and rear doors. Rear access plug: 17 diameter Hand-holes, five 3 x 4 Man-way 12 x 16 Surface blow-down connection. 12 gauge thick tubes. Corrugated furnace, Section I. 3/4 tubesheet.

Standard Trims: ASME safety valve(s). Water column with water level gauge glass, try cocks, low water cut-off & pump control, blow-down valve. Auxiliary low water cut-off with manual reset, probe in shell. Operating control. High limit control with manual reset. Firing rate control (Hi-Lo-off or modulating operation only). Pressure gauge with shutoff and inspectors gauge cocks. Control circuit terminal strips.
