Checklist for the Issuance of a Visa for STUDY


(stay more than 90 days)

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY !


Applicants are required to appear personally to lodge their visa applications. Please make sure that you have all the necessary documents and fees when you apply. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Visa requirements:
During the appointment, please bring the original documents listed below and provide the Embassy with clear photocopies. Do not staple the documents together. Three (3) visa application forms, which are completely and properly filled-out and signed by the applicant (Write in block letters and use black or blue ink pen only.) The form may be obtained for free from the Embassy or downloaded from the following link: http://www.bfm.admin.ch/bfm/en/home/themen/einreise/visumantragsformular.html Four (4) clear, identical and coloured passport photos (With white background; Must be taken within the last six months; Please do not staple the photos on the form.) Valid passport (Must be valid at least 3 months from the end of the approved duration stay; Must contain at least 2 blank visa pages.) Two (2) copies of the applicants valid passport (Inside front cover containing holders personal information and photo; Inside back cover containing Important reminders, signature and other passport information.) For foreign nationals who have a valid residence permit in the Philippines, submit also a copy of the Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) and Re-Entry permit Two (2) copies of acceptance / confirmation / registration letter from the school, university, etc. in Switzerland Two (2) copies of confirmation of payment of school tuition fees 2 copies of proof of financial resources : latest bank statements showing cash flow of the last 3 months, bank books. (If study is sponsored, include a letter of financial guarantee from sponsor.) Two (2) copies of previous diplomas and school certificates Two (2) copies of curriculum vitae / rsum Two (2) copies of motivation letter explaining why the applicant would like to pursue his/her studies in Switzerland or Liechtenstein Two (2) copies of a written confirmation that the applicant will leave Switzerland or Liechtenstein after he/she completes the chosen course study

Depending on the school / university chosen, the Embassy may still have to conduct an oral test to evaluate your language skills. The requirements listed are applicable to Filipino citizens and foreign nationals who have valid residence status in the Philippines.

Processing time:
Visa applications for the purpose of study will be transmitted for decision to the competent Swiss immigration authority where the applicant intends to reside. The Embassy is only allowed to issue an entry visa upon receipt of a positive decision or authorization. Please note that the normal processing period is 8-12 weeks at the minimum. VISA PROCESSING FEE: - For the current VISA FEE, please check our website or contact the visa section. - An additional PHP500.00 for postage fee will also be collected - All fees must be paid in cash. Please prepare the exact amount in Pesos only. *Fees are subject to change without prior notice. The visa handling-fee must be paid at the time the visa application is submitted to the Embassy. The fee will NOT be reimbursed in case the application is finally rejected or withdrawn. In any case, it is not allowed to begin studying without the necessary study or entry visa.
