How To Root Sony Xperia Arc And Arc S Running On Official Android 4.0 ICS Firmware 1. You need to first install ADB on your computer. For that you need to download Android SDK. 2. Now download the actual root package , and save it to a convenient folder on your PC. 3. Now connect your device to computer. 4. Now copy the root package that you downloaded in step 2, to your phones SD card. And disconnect your phone from PC. 5. Now download the kernel needed for flashing,. 6. Now download the fastboot and extract it on the computer. 7. Copy the kernel downloaded before to the same folder as Fastboot. In the end, your folder should have the files showed in the image from below.

1. Now take your USB cable and connect it to your computer. 2. Now take the phone and while holding the Menu key (key at the bottom right on your Arc/Arc S) connect it to the USB cable. 3. Now on your PC open command prompt . Go to Start -> in run , type cmd and hit enter. 4. In Command Prompt go to the fastboot folder (for example cd c: fastboot) and then type the command: fastboot boot ARC-DooMKernel-ICS-BETA-v04-lower-boot.img . 5. Now the kernel will be flashed on your phone. 6. Now your device will automatically restart. 7. When it restarts and as soon as the Sony logo shows up and the blue LED lights up, start pressing for several times the Back button on the phone. 8. Now the your device must boot in ClockworkMod Recovery. If not, then repeat the previous step. 9. In the recovery mode select install zip from sd card and choose zip from sd card. Select the Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip file. Note- You can use volume buttons to navigate and power button to select. 10. Confirm and allow the installation process to complete. While installation is in progress, please do not disconnect your device. 11. When installation is finished, select Go Back. 12. Now select reboot system now. 13. Thats it. Now download the BusyBox tool from Play Store and install it on your device. Congratulations!! You successfully rooted your Device !!
