fter 20 years in the fashion industry as a designer I saw the opportunity to carry fashion trends into homewares. The concept was born when I was shopping with friends and their children for an upcoming wedding present. We were obnoxiously ignored and asked not to touch a light bulb went of in my head and decided why not bring shopping for homewares to the home? Oasis was born! I was right, already the business quadrupled in the last 7 years and is just getting bigger and better even in this tough economy. In actual fact our Summer catalogue was our most successful catalogue ever and we could hardly keep up with demand! I just love watching our fabulous consultants not only grow their own businesses but also grow as people. I have a great working relationship with all the girls and we just become one big family with the same visions and goals.

have been an Oasis Design Consultant for over 5 1/2 years. Before Oasis I worked in a club for 10 years where I was made redundant when the club went bankrupt. I have 3 children aged 5, 7 and 18 and I had to find a way to make an income that would fit in with my husband and the kids. Oasis has turned out to be the best thing, career-wise, that has ever happened to me. I absolutely love the work, its easy, the products are gorgeous and so easy to sell. I have never had any problems getting party bookings as everyone loves Oasis so much and there are no other party plan companies out there like it. I had done a party plan about 12 years ago and the problem was that I had to order, pack and deliver everything myself. Oasis is much easier all I do is the part I love best the parties Oasis does the rest! I am making more money than I have ever in my life. I have a huge team of girls and am earning an average of $1100 per week for around 20 hours work. (Thats approx $55/hr!) As well as my amazing income in this short time I have also won fabulous prizes to the value of approx $20,000 which includes dinners, a weekend stay at the Sydney Hilton Hotel, various pamper packages and holidays to Port Douglass, New Zealand, Sri Lanka & Bali for the whole family! fter many years of building a successful career in the corporate world, I made the biggest change life can bring starting a family. I was just 4 months into my maternity leave when I felt totally lost. I felt I had lost my identity and needed to regain it to once again feel the sense of self-worth & achievement I had become accustomed to. Like other working mums, I had challenges to overcome. All of my family lived interstate and my husbands work involved long hours & travel. So I wanted to find something that allowed me to work when hubby could look after the kids. By chance I stumbled on an ad for Oasis Homewares. After 3 days of looking at the same ad, I decided to research the company. feel very fortunate to have become a part of the world of party plan a few years ago. My children were 4 and 18 months and I was starting to wonder how I could ever go back to my previous world in the fashion industry juggling the long hours and high pressured environment. I had previously operated my own retail store but even this option had left me very time poor and my family seemed to always come second. We also work very closely with the factories and villages - making sure that they follow good employment practices in compliance with international fair trade regulations. We believe Oasis has a social responsibility to help support our factory workers to help feed and mainly educate their families.

Our winning bamboo collection supports this eco friendly philosophy- Bamboo is a highly renewable material and one of earths fastest growing plants its biological characteristic makes it the perfect tool for preventing soils erosion - and reducing Carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere - Bamboo generates up to 35% more oxygen than trees - Bamboo is not a wood but a grass bamboo need no replanting and it grows without fertilizers or pesticides. It also plays an important role in the reduction of timber consumption , environmental and forests protection.

Oasis has paired it designs and colours with the traditional century old craftsmanship unique to Vietnam - again providing employment for the local Vietnamese. Each piece of the Oasis bamboo collection is hand coiled, shaped and finished with natural lacquer. Water Hyacinth is another natural product Oasis uses-our BBQ, new kitchen and office collections are made from Water Hyacinth. It is an attractive free floating plant growing in waterways that if left in the wild can cause problems to other plant and fish life, irrigation and power generation. The farming of these reeds alleviates these problems as well as

providing employment for the local farmers - both solutions again keeping in with the Oasis social and environmental philosophy. All our glassware is beautifully hand crafted and blown in Vietnam using recycled glass-as a result, again, no 2 pieces are the same - we want our customers to embrace and appreciate the individuality of each glass and know we have made the attempt to be Eco-conscious.
