Ancient Hebrew Pictographs

Life is rich with natural, functional, healthy systems that really do work. Chemicals, Smog and sundry other nuisances obscure our view of the beauty around and within us that works well. That beauty exudes its richness through Faith. The original word for faith in Scripture was emunah, and it had a lot more to it than the nebulous belief I was once taught.

Aleph-Mem-Vav-Nun-Hey: (read the opposite direction in Hebrew) -Bulls Head (Strength, First, Authority) -Moving Water / Blood -Tent Peg (Nail Down, Secure) -Sprouting Seed (Offspring, Continuing) -Man Standing in Awe (Wow, LOOK!) Faith without works really is dead. The picture of Emunah (Original Faith) is Strength Watering and Securing the Sprouting Seed and Standing in Awe, Looking at the results. Real Faith is real work, implementing the Natural Laws given in Torah, and seeing the results of working within those tangible, functional, Good Rules. Emunah is really better-translated Faithfulness. When we are faithful to YHWHs Teaching and Instruction, we experience the results of real, active, living faith. If faith produces the Tov (Functionality / Goodness) described in Torah, its real faith, and you can hang your hat on it. Just like we invest strength in following the Natural Laws, planting a seed and watering it and watching it sprout and grow into food, there are a multitude of rich laws that can feed, heal, teach, and guide us if well implement them. Faith that implements the Teaching and Instruction of YHWH is recognizable in the Tov it produces. (Originally published March 3, 2010 here)

Perfection Disorders
December 23, 2012 Ancient Hebrew Pictographs, Biblical Healing, Forgiveness, Freedom, Healed, Healing, Home / Family, Hope,

I grew up trying to be perfect & do things perfectly. I wonder how many other people did. Eventually I gave up. Its like getting into a spaceship and starting out for a planet located an infinite distance away. No matter how far you travel, you never get any closer. Its not about becoming perfect. Its about the journey. 2 original words / Ancient Hebrew pictographs for you:

Break or Keep: Trample or Guard 1. Break to open the head (as in a head of grain). Its the picture of throwing the Teaching and Instruction down on the threshing floor and trampling it. 2. Keep to guard and protect Its the picture of the shepherd building a corral out in the wilderness where there arent any 24s. He makes a short wall of rocks and then surrounds the top with thorn bushes, and then stays there, protecting his sheep from the wild animals. The word Break (in red) is taken from Psalm 119:126, as an example. It corresponds to Strongs # 6565, and to the Ancient Hebrew Lexicon of the Bibles # 1388-B. There it is translated, To open the head and To throw something on the ground and break by trampling. You can see the open mouth (the letter Peh) with the two guys heads (the letter Resh). The word Keep (in blue) is taken from a few verses later as an opposite: verses 134 and 136. They correspond to Strongs # 8104, and to the AHLBs # 2853 (V). The AHLB translates it, To guard and To watch over or guard in the sense of preserving or protecting. You can see the two front teeth (symbolizing protection, biting, or tearing) protecting the water (sustenance for life) and the head. Another meaning for the Mem (water symbol) is blood (life source), so it could be the teeth protecting the blood and the head. This picture used in correlation with keeping the Teaching and Instruction or mistranslated, keeping the law is a vivid one, demonstrating the life-guarding properties of Scripture. Keeping or Breaking the Law isnt the terror we were taught. Its a real, do-able, rich lifestyle. Rather than Obey perfectly, we walk in it, so as not to trample it. Theres space for things not being perfect. YHWH isnt that naive The Creator just wants us to love living, and gave us Instructions on how to make that happen. Peace be the journey. Living Real: Single-Income Economics

A friend asked me to share what economic, practical thoughts I have on how we make it as a singleincome family. First off, I have to acknowledge: were well-blessed, and I get it that not everyone has all the tools in their basket that we do. That said, other people do have tools in their baskets that we dont. In a nutshell, we have to find thankfulness for what already exists, rather expending time, energy, money, and frustration on pining after what isnt. In a world where instant gratification and marketing and sales and shoulds and obligations are often hailed as gods above real needs, real relationships, and multi-generational investments, finding thankfulness for what already exists is not always the easiest path. We dont walk it perfectly, but we do walk it, learning along the way. In no particular order, some things that make our world function on one income: 1. Home Hair Cuts: I do all of them, including my own, and I get compliments on them! If youre not brave enough to try it right off, practice on a doll, and barter with someone whos done it before till youre feelin yer oats 2. Drying Line: Cuts down on the power bill. Wood heat in the winter helps w/ this, as it serves dual purpose: re-humidifies the air a bit, and youre not paying for the heat twice. 3. Bicycles: We have an update post here on the family car. Between insurance and gas and overall health improvements, its been an awesome gift in our world. Not an easy one to initially imagine, considering I was pretty arthritic when we first gave up the car, but no regrets 4. Giving: Ancient Hebrew Pictograph of the word give here. What goes around comes around. Find someone in worse shape than you are (its usually not as difficult as it sounds), and do something about it that you *can do. 5. Become Debt-Free: Ancient Proverb says, The borrower becomes the lenders slave. Find a way

out of your slavery. 6. Family Relationships: Its a team effort. We all have to understand that were working toward something bigger and more important than money. We have to find the place where we want to build each other and our home into a healthy, peaceful place more than we want the next trinket.

7. Grow Something To Eat: The closer we get to dirt, the more grounded we can be, not only emotionally and physically, but also financially. Our health is one of the most expensive things to lose, and one of the fastest ways to improve it is through organic gardening. Chickens are good, too. Check with local restrictions, though. Some cities will allow hens but not roosters, and there may be a restriction per square foot of land area. 8. Tiny House: More land; Less House; Less Stuff. Find the minimum quantity of stuff you need to be happy, and do the house size that just barely fits. Land gives food. House & stuff just drain the budget. Shelving, bunk beds, and Straw-stuffed (make sure its clean & dry) mattresses have been a great help for us in making a small house work. 9. Natural / Alternative Medicine: Theres a learning curve to it, and the first few years, we did use modern medicine for a bit. It didnt work for us, so I studied on my own, and listened to the healthnutty gurus that had conquered this, that, and the other thing. At this point, our world doesnt revolve around gas money to get to the doctors office. The doctor cant research as quickly or as effectively or as intimately as I can, here, from home, on my computer. Outside of dismemberment, I havent found any use for modern medicine: I can do better for my own family. Theyre just people with fancy papers who have been through a system thats run by money. Im not. Im just as smart as they are, but less brainwashed, and better-motivated. All of that said, check out the disclaimer below 10. Growing Herbs: Seasonings and Medicines and a lot of herbs that double as both. A gold mine! 11. Convection Oven: In the absence of a very efficient wood stove (will post on Hubbys invention / modification later) that runs on twigs, rather than logs, a convection oven uses a lot less energy (money) than the regular sort. Our counter-top version was a second-hand purchase, and has been great! 12. Craigslist: That second-hand thing. The world gets a lot less trashed with re-using what someone else figured out they didnt need. Meanwhile, I pay less than half what everyone else did for theirs, originally. 13. Build Something: Hubbys built a business that will, hopefully, sell for enough to pay for the materials for us to build a place where we wont have to pay rent anymore! Meanwhile, hes built a sauna for me (LOVING MY MAN!!!), and a shed to sell or maybe trade for the vehicle to move us to our new place to build 14. DIY: Look up whatever it is you find you need, and build it, make it, cook it, brew it, medicate it, repair it. Whatever it is, chances are, its just not that complicated unless its a computer and youre like me about computers. Still working on conquering that giant in my world. LOL! 15. Writing? Im writing a book hoping it sells a billion or two copies, and we can retire, fat-andhappy! LOL! Love to all of you, who are working to do the single-income thing! Its been well-worth-it for us: our babies know who we are, and we know them. Were building our home together, one life lesson at a time. Standard Disclaimer: Im no doc, and dont pretend to be one. I am therefore not legally licensed to diagnose, cure, treat, prevent, or otherwise mitigate any disease, and neither is the stuff I generally choose for healing but then, Ive not been educated / indoctrinated by boards with big pharma reps on them, either so do your own research and find what works for you

Money and Underwear

I read an article or two the other day, and decided that I just had to write a bit about underwear. OK, so undies arent usually within the fields of the health-nutty thing, or the Ancient Hebrew Pictographs thing, or connections between the two. I guess, maybe it has more to do with the selfsustaining / sustainable thing, though which does relate back to those in a round-about way I was scooting around online, checking my mail in between loads of laundry, dishes, diapers, and schoolwork, and my attention was caught by a video claiming to connect the status of the economy with mens underwear sales. Methinks, YUP been there! When were broke, and its a choice between buying food and OK, well not go there. Then, I got off on a tangent, looking into the manufacture of those undies, and the outsourcing that affordable undies have done I was sickened by not only the twistedness of the money gods who wouldnt provide functional conditions or compensation to these people, but who further bought off congress to oppress an

entire country, disallowing their government to raise their own minimum wage (and we wonder why we cant compete with outsourcing and why were losing our jobs here???!!!) and the death threats???!!! OK, so breathing a bit Im not one to have very many dollars in voting power, but one thing we do buy new is undies. Weve long since quit buying anything made by slave children in China. The kiddos check the labels carefully now. There are things that just dont get replaced very often, but it makes for taking better care of what we have, anyhow. Beyond that, its built a confidence that we can make things for ourselves a lot of the time, or function without some the necesseties that we had to have for survival. Now were independent of some of those things, and its empowering. Fruit of the Loom will not be getting any more blood from this one little turnip, even if I have to sew our familys undies myself! He who oppresses the poor to make more for himself Or who gives to the rich, will only come to poverty. Proverbs 22:16 YHWH Judge!

Who Owns The House?

Hmmm now this makes some sense. In an Ancient Hebrew wedding ceremony, the prospective groom is required to delineate what he is willing to give for and to his prospective bride in a Ketubah (written marriage agreement). Four things were required: Food, Clothing, Shelter, and Marital Rights, plus it might include other, optional things, along with a bride price, paid to her father, all of which she had to approve before agreeing to marry him. Makes sense. He works for her (someone he values enough to work for), she owns his house. Security, in exchange for working for him and bearing his children. In that culture, at that time, a woman had more security than many women do now, in some ways. At least then, in that culture, he had to be willing to acknowledge that she was worth something, and give her a place to live, sustenance, and pleasure. Too many women dont even get a ring now-a-days and call it liberated. Can you picture a girl now-a-days saying, Um, yeah, I like you and all, but I need a house, and if you dont feed me, clothe me, and offer yourself to me on a regular basis, Ill have grounds for divorce, and I want it all in writing, and witnessed by my father before Ill marry you. Somewhere along the line, women got gypped! oh, wait a minute that would be in reference to gypsies, wouldnt it which might be closer to the ancient culture than to the modern (dunno havent studied gypsy culture intensively). Gotta watch my language LOL!

Gettin It Down: Pudding w/ Beef Gelatin

Got to thinking today, about the Ancient Hebrew Pictograph for the word Mother. Sometimes a mamma needs a bit of extra support to keep her gluing strength at full capacity. Maybe theres something about the Teaching and Instruction in that pictograph that could tell us where to get more of that fortitude we need daily? Heres where that works for me: The pictograph is Strong water, or glue, made in much the same way as Beef Gelatin is still made. Danged if it aint medicinal for me! So I have a few friends who are all over trying out beef gelatin for everything from hair & nail growth to healing teeth and bones. Theyve asked what I do with it. A lot of times, Ill just dissolve some (maybe 1/2 cup per gallon of soup or stew) into a little (3/4 cup?) hot water, and stir that mixture into the stew. If it doesnt all dissolve on the first shot, a little more hot water should do it. My favorite method for gettin it down, though, is dessert Heres Chocolate Pudding: 1/2 cup Beef Gelatin 1 cup Cocoa Powder 3 cans Coconut Milk (or real milk if youre not allergic to dairy) 3/4 cup Hot Water to dissolve gelatin (maybe a bit more to get the last bit dissolved, after you pour it out the first time) 1 Tbsp Real Salt 1/4 tsp Peppermint Extract (or Orange Extract if Im in the mood I choose one or the other not both) 1 1/2 cups Honey Dissolve gelatin into the hot water. Heat coconut milk in a large pan. Stir in Dissolved gelatin and Cocoa Powder. Add Real Salt, simmer a few minutes Remove from heat, and stir in honey. Chill in refer if youre patient. In freezer if youre like me or have kids to blame it on Sources for Beef Gelatin here: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=FSa&rls=org.mozilla:enUS:official&q=beef+gelatin+now&gs_upl=94306l96445l0l96840l4l3l0l0l0l0l290l731l23l3l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw=1024&bih=605&um=1&ie=UTF8&tbm=shop&cid=9496090215603229196&sa=X&ei=WX4fT42dJKO2gWN9v2nDw&ved=0CH0Q8wIwAw and here: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=beef+gelatin+kosher&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:enUS:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF8&tbm=shop&cid=10368982407147358228&sa=X&ei=930fT_aJM6GQ2QXQ24WxDw&ved=0CFYQ8 Enjoy!!!

LChaim!!! Living Language

What if words werent just abstract combinations of symbols that make sounds? What if there were concrete pictures in each word we used, that, when we thought of that word, brought up that particular combination of pictures, with real, concrete meanings behind them? What if those pictures gave us not only concrete understandings of the concepts behind them, but also gave us mental, emotional, and physical healing paths to pursue? What if all of that were connected to finances, food, shelter, relationships, and every other major area of discussion in our lives? Heres to a Living Language one thats coming back from the dead LChaim! Youve all heard the song LChaim from Fiddler On The Roof, right? Means To Life, right? Well yes, but thats an abstract picture what is Life? Can we draw a picture of it? The Ancient Hebrews did

Chet- Tent Wall: Separation, Inside / Outside Yud- Arm: Administration, Authority The Stomach or Life is our Inner Administrator, or Gut Instinct, separated from the Whole Breath of Life (Gen. 2:7) in this Life but thats another post should expound on that some more, sometime OK so what does Life have to do with Stomach? Its the same word in the Ancient Hebrew Pictographs Why??? From the AHLB # 1171: When the stomach is empty, one is famished and weak, and when it is filled, one is revived. This organ is seen as the life, as an empty stomach is like death, but a revived stomach is life. When youre a nomadic shepherd in the wilderness, your entire life revolves around finding food for your sheep, and for yourself. But were modern folk, and weve moved beyond those base needs right? maybe maybe not. How many people out there are making choices between healthy foods and medical bills? or between healthy foods and medical insurance? or between healthy foods and drugs to deal with the diseases that have arisen from our modern, convenient diet? Maybe money could solve that problem for some folks, but it takes more than money to fill a stomach with life. I could take a mint and go buy dinner out every night, but it wouldnt solve my health problems, or reduce my need for medical insurance or drugs. Theres more to it than money. Money is a tool a means to an end, but it doesnt solve problems on its own. Knowledge of how to use that money or other tools can bring Life on a gut-level both physically and emotionally/ mentally. So where do we go to find that Knowledge? Two places work for me: Torah (Teaching and Instruction, originally written in those Ancient Hebrew Pictographs), and other Breaths of Life particularly those who have studied Ancient cultures, who knew bits of Truth that have been shoved aside, and driven out of mainstream culture by the money gods So if Im lookin there for my Teaching and Instruction about how to keep my Life / Stomach functioning properly, what do I find? First off, I find that before anything else happens, therea a set of Teachings that apply to all of Noahs children everyb ody. Theyre pretty basic. Its re-stated pretty concisely later on in one of the Prophets: He has shown thee, O man, what is good, and what YHWH requires of thee: but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God. Micah 6:8 Pretty basic, right? So what does that have to do with my guts??? Lets go back to those original Teachings that were for everybody (click on the link, check out #3, specifically, and come back to me How many ways does our modern society impose cruel conditions, cruel feeding, housing, and modifications on the animals that we consume as food? Our sanitized world, where we dont have to see the animals, either the way they live, or the way they die to become our dinners is pretty bad / dysfunctional, honestly. The results are in our guts. We have astronomically high incidences of intestinal disorders, and food allergies, oftentimes produced by compromised gut lining. The genetically modified corn that we use to feed livestock in their unnaturally cramped quarters isnt the same fare theyd be getting if they were free to graze its a synthesized freak-of-nature that

produces infertility in man and beast.

When were cruel to animals, we reduce our own Life. Our

Chai (maybe related to Chi for those who are familiar with Chinese medicine?) is negatively affected and diminished by our choices to trample these Natural Laws. According to Chinese medicine (one of those breaths of life that have found Ancient Truths that weve swept under the rug in our modern sanitized culture), all health begins in the gut. Therefore, if we have illness (mental, physical, or emotional) in our Life, we must look to what could be dysfunctional in our gut (bms too fast or too slow, anyone? LOL!), and heal the Stomach. If our gut instincts are off in relationships, and get us into trouble, we must look to where our Gut / Stomach needs healing. Like it or not, we are still living in animal bodies no matter how many layers of paint & nonsense we use to pretend otherwise (just keepin it real, here LOL!) We are no better than our ancestors, and we would do well to hear their wisdom. No, I dont expect you to get from here to Idealsville overnight maybe not even ever. A wise friend once told me that its like getting into a spaceship, and heading for a planet an infinite distance away youll never arrive, because its an infinite distance away. Thats not the point. The point is to be pointed in that direction. Each step we take in the right direction is a footprint that the generations behind us can trace to find the Way again, making the path more clear for others after them. So I grew up eating pork & shellfish, stepped on a few rusty nails, dug up a septic system when I was a kid (forced labor LOL!), had a run-in with a chemical something-or-other in an on-campus apartment in college, and spent a few decades running around getting Rxs from docs for various ailments, which didnt work, and then hunted down natural healing & detoxes, which finally did. After that mess, Id finally got my body back, and I hit another chemical something-or-other, with a husband and 4 babies in-tow! My best guess is that it was an ex-meth house made over like a dream-home rental. At any rate, that sent me into a tail-spin, and fast. We got outta there, quick as we figured out it was the house, and Ive been healing since. One of the things the doc tried to pin on me was Rheumatoid (autoimmune) arthritis. He told me I had fibromyalgia, and that my something-or-other was high. I asked him what it was, and he said, Oh, its a big word. You dont need to worry about that. um, yeah that went over like a lead balloon! Im no doc, and dont pretend to be one, but dont tell me that somethin in my body is too big a word, and that I shouldnt worry my pretty little head about it.!!! I was livid! All done with that doc, LOL! My body got a LOT better once we got out of that house, but it took time and a LOT of work to make the headway that enabled me to become a strong, active, and even athletic woman again. With that nut-shell background, a bit on what has been helpful for me in fighting the symptoms of severe, crippling (had to be carried when I could no longer crawl) arthritis: MSM: methylsulphonylmethane organic sulphur. No USRDA on it. Too much can give loose bms (which is a place where the zeolite can come in handy), but when Ive been hurting badly, 2,000 mg every 2 hours has helped immensely. 3-5,000 / day maintenance dosage seems to be about right for me now. Also a nice anti-cancer tool. FYI (by Garden of Life) or Rejuvenzyme (cheaper, but same strength of stuff): Its pineapple enzymes, but super-potent: stronger than regular bromelain. Works better than Ibuprofen, and without the side-effects. Wild Yam Root: terrible tasting stuff, and it took a good bit when I was in real pain. Id take 2 heaping Tbsp of it every 2 hours, alongside the MSM when I needed it. I ordered it in by the pound b/c its cheaper that way, but its like swallowing gravel, so I had to be sure to have plenty of liquid on-hand to get it down. Again, an anti-cancer tool. Ginger Root (Rhizome for technical folk): STRONG-brewed tea great anti-inflammatory stuff. I was doing 3 quarts / day of about a heaping TBSP of ginger root powder per quart of hot water. Be sure to cover it while it brews to keep in the healthy stuff steam can leach out some of the best properties in teas of all sorts. Also great for warming up cold tummies, and great for digestion. Aloe Vera: 2-6 ounces / day recipe here, and another post I wrote on it, with the Ancient Hebrew pictograph here. Ive seen this plant do some beautiful things, both inside and out! Another anticancer tool in my basket! Cod Liver Oil: 4 Tbsp / day more info on my experiences with it & what king here. Great for weight loss and detox, too! Zeolite: Great for drawing toxins out of the body. Slows down bms a bit if you have difficulty with diarrhea. Special kinds of minerals are just amazing tools! Arnica: (only if you have some form of trauma youve dealt with) I was at the 1M level, as-needed for quite a while, but have since healed, got a reaction (proving, meaning that Id healed at that level, and needed to move down to a lower potency) at the 1M level, and moved down to the 200C level,

eventually had a reaction at that level, and was able to move down to the 30C level, again, asneeded. Only need it very occasionally now here. Diet : No GMOs, No sugar, no grains except for brown rice, no legumes, TONS of Brassicas (broccoli, kale, collards, maca, etc.), no unclean animal meats (pork, shellfish, etc.), and for a while there, no dairy or eggs. Later on, Ive been able to incorporate eggs & dairy back in, slowly and carefully no hormones or antibiotics, no blood spots in the eggs, and the milk has to be RAW, and CULTURED raw-milk organic cheese, or keifer, for example. Sauna / Sweat: Great for getting rid of pesticides and petrochemicals my joints LOVE sauna sessions. More info here. Exercise / gentle movement, increasing as able this one started out as moving whatever small appendage I was able to move in the mornings when I would wake up in the toxic house. Eventually, Id be able to move another finger or toe next to that one, and so forth, until I could crawl, and then walk (most days). During that time, it was a choice I could lie there and just quit breathing, or I could move a bit, even when it hurt. I recommend moving as gently, and as much as possible Heat at night: When I was living in the toxic house, I found that my lymph fluid would kind of freeze up in my joints Id wake up in the mornings with lumps everywhere fluid that got stuck All but two are gone now one in my right hand, and one in my left leg. Still working on those, but they dont impede movement anymore Anyhow, I warm a cotton bag filled with rice or other grain in the oven or microwave till its as warm as I can touch, wrap it in a towel to hold the heat all night, and put one on my guts (where lymph fluid is supposed to drain into so that it can be eliminated through the normal channels), and one on whatever joints were worst-off, and elevated those joints, so the lymph fluid would flow back down toward the gut for natural elimination. I invariably woke up with better functioning when I started doing this. Judge Me!
December 7, 2011

Ive often wondered why David says, Judge me, O YHWH my God, according to Your righteousness, And do not let them rejoice over me. In Psalm 35:24 Those words Judge me, O God just sounds terrifying! What imperfect human being could

possibly imagine theyd survive such a request? Imagination conjures up pictures of Hell & damnation in the offing OY, thats frightening! or who could possibly think to name their child Daniel or Danielle meaning, God is my Judge! What a frightening thought for that child well, maybe Ive noticed that a lot of people named Daniel or Danielle tend to just know that nobody but God has the right to judge them LOL! but on closer inspection of the word, judge, in the Ancient Hebrew Pictographs: the language in which it was originally written, we find a very interesting original philosophy behind the Judge. There are two words for judge that well look at here: One is the word from Psalm 35:24

Ancient Hebrew Pictograph Judge 1 Shin-Pey-Tet-Nun-Yud Shin: Two front teeth: Defending, Cutting, Two Pey: Open Mouth: Open, Break Tet: Clay Basket: Surround Nun: Sprouting Seed: Child, Generation, Continue Yud: Arm: Administration, Authority Cutting and Breaking Open those who Surround the Sprouting Seed, with Administrative Authority. I see a picture of a gang surrounding a kid, and the Authority to Judge breaking through to defend that child. alternatively, Defending the Mouth and Surrounding the Sprouting Seed with Administrative Authority This one gives me a picture of that Judge / Authority defending that child, and defending his source of nourishment. Here, we do see consequences for the perpetrator of a crime, but we also see the defense of the sprouting seed, child, or next generation. The second word for judge is the one used in naming Daniel or Danielle: The El part of Daniel means Powerful Shepherd, or God. The first half of the word, Dan is the Judge part:

Ancient Hebrew Pictograph Judge 2 Dalet-Ayin-Nun Dalet: Tent Door: Moving in & out; Back & forth Ayin: Eye: Sensitivity, Vision, and Insight Nun: Sprouting Seed: Child, Generation, Continue The Door to Sensitivity, Vision, and Insight for the Child and continuing generations. A just judge is one who opens the door to really see the long-term consequences of their judgments, not only for the immediate, but also for generations to come. Long before there was ever a Hebrew people, and long before there was ever a Mt. Sainai, with all of its Teachings, there was a Noachide Covenant, in which we are all called to be just in our judgments, and to support a system of justice that defends more than just our own needs, but also the needs of the generations to come. May we all find the Breath of Life in us that is capable of rendering good judgment, and open the door, with sensitivity, vision, and insight, for the generations to come. Christ's Sacrifice, hidden in the very word "Torah"

Mark Harpt The word "torah" or "law" (Strong's #8451) refers to the Old Testament, and can specifically refer to the first five books written by Moses. One of the most enlightening events of a Christian's life is the moment he or she discovers that Jesus Christ is interwoven into the entire Old Testament. It is said that Jesus can be found on every page of the Old Testament. Well He can also be found before you even open the book!

Torah The Hebrew word "towrah" is translated "law" or "Torah" in the English language. Much is lost in the translation, as they say. To understand what is lost, we must first realize that each character of the Hebrew language has a meaning. The word "Torah" is split up by character (Hebrew is read right to left) as follows: (Tav) Literal Meaning: a sign, a cross Symbolic Meaning: a covenant, to seal (Vav) Literal Meaning: nail Symbolic Meaning: "and", to add, to secure (Reysh) Literal Meaning: head Symbolic Meaning: person, the head, the highest (Hey) Literal Meaning: window, fence Symbolic Meaning: "the", to reveal If the meanings of each letter in the word "Torah" are combined to make a sentence, an amazing truth is revealed: Tav + Vav + Reysh + Hey = a cross, nail, the head, window "Head" means "the highest" as in "the head of the household." "Window" means "to see clearly" or "to reveal" as in "a window to your soul." So, the combined meaning of the letters of the Hebrew word "Torah" are: [To] a cross, [is] nail[ed], the highest, is revealed [in the Torah]. or: The Torah reveals the King of Kings, nailed to a cross. Or if you want to keep the literal "head" for Reysh, you get:

Nailed to a cross, at his head, it is revealed Matthew 27:37, "Above his head they placed the written charge against him: THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS." or: Nailed to a cross, the head [of the corner], is revealed Luke 20:17, "Jesus looked directly at them and asked, 'then what is the meaning of that which is written: "The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone [the head of the corner]"?'" or: Nailed to a cross, the head [of the Church], is revealed Ephesians 5:23b, "Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is Savior." As you can see, God has revealed His redemption plan in places many had not even thought to look. Imagine what further inquiry would reveal. Paul tells us, "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made..." (Rom 1:20) All we have to do is truly look, and everywhere we look, we will see God, the Creator. What an honor!

Christ's First Recorded Worship Service

Don't Rock The Boat The Lord always has been more interested in quality than quantity. What's in the hearts of the people in the pews is more important than how many people are warming the pews. God gave Gideon a sobering lesson in church growth, taking him from 32,000 members clear down to 300. Again, God was looking for quality. One philosophy that has successfully driven church growth is "seeker friendly" services. Give the people what they want, and avoid anything that might disturb their equilibrium. That way the church service can be conducted in a way that appeals directly to the felt needs of the people who have been drawn in. Obviously, if its numbers you're after, this system works. Unfortunately, what people feel they need doesn't always correspond to what they actually need. Jesus testified that there was no greater born of men than John the Baptist. Was John seeker friendly? Let's see how he did evangelism. Matthew 3:7, "But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?" Is that any way to build up your baptismal class? John's call was not to develop the largest congregation in Jerusalem, but to prepare a people for the soon coming of the Lord. We have an identical call on our ministry today. Play It Safe Another surefire way to increase membership rolls is to "play everything safe" when it comes to worship. Don't ever do anything that might offend someone; they might not return. We are not here in this world to play it safe. Serving God wholeheartedly has never been the safest course to pursue. In fact, it often can lead to martyrdom. Let's take careful note of Christ's first recorded worship service after he came out of the wilderness of temptation. Luke 4:14-15,"And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about." Everyone was praising Christ. Isn't that what we all crave? Isn't that worth playing it safe for? But one factor was a foretoken of trouble ahead Jesus was newly anointed by the Holy Spirit. The Comforter has never proven to be a real comfort to mere pew warmers. When Jesus stood up and read from the scroll of Isaiah he was still on safe ground. Luke 4:22, "And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious

words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?" But then Christ blew it. He dared to make a clear application of the Scripture just read. "And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country." meaning, Why don't you do miracles here in your hometown like those you did in Capernaum? "And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country." "And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong." (Luke 4:23, 24, 28, 29). The people in the synagogue were furious. They tried to push Jesus over the cliff! Jesus was very intelligent, so I know he didn't just blunder. Even in his own hometown he cared too much for the people to merely play it safe.

Ancient Hebrew Word Meanings Spirit ~ ru'ahh

By Jeff A. Benner

The Hebrew word ru'ach literally means the wind and is derived from the parent root rach a prescribed path. The word rach is not found in the Biblical text but defined by the various child roots derived from it. The child roots derived from this parent root are arach, rachah and yarach. Arach is a traveler who follows a prescribed path from one place to another. Rachah is a millstone which goes round and round in the sense of following a prescribed path to crush grain into flour. Yarach is the root of yere'ach meaning the moon which follows a prescribed path in the night sky. The child root ru'ach is literally the wind that follows a prescribed path each season. By extension ru'ach means the wind of a man or what is usually translated as spirit. A man's wind is not just a spiritual entity within a man but is understood by the Ancient Hebrews as his character. AHLB# 1445-j (N)

Ancient Hebrew Word Meanings Love ~ ahav

By Jeff A. Benner

We do not choose our parents or siblings but are instead given to us as a gift from above, a privileged gift. Even in the ancient Hebrew culture ones wife was chosen for you. It is our responsibility to provide and protect that privileged gift. In our modern Western culture love is an abstract thought of emotion, how one feels toward another but the Hebrew meaning goes much deeper. As a verb this word means "to provide and protect what is given as a privilege" as well as " to have an intimacy of action and emotion". We are told to love God and our neighbors, not in an emotional sense, but in the sense of our actions. 1094-C (N1)
