CDP Officers attend Financial Management Seminar

By April De la Cruz, Coordinator, Centrist Democracy Political Institute (CDPI)

Participants to the Financial Management Seminar

I am humbled, honored and happy for your presence in all our activities at the region.

A total of 78 district secretaries and treasurers of the CDP attended the Financial Management Training for Social Movements and Parties conducted by the CDPI last October 20-21, 2012 at the Best Western Plus Antel Hotel in Makati City. The two-day seminar simply did not focus on the usual administrative and accounting system fit for the collection of party membership dues but introduced an online accounting system that can be accessed easily by party secretaries and treasurers.

The Wave Accounting System, which is a free online system, is being adapted by the Centrist Democratic Party of the Philippines (CDP), the only political party in the country that collects membership dues from each of its members. The online software offers a distinct security feature that obtains confidentiality of the financial database of its subscribers. Hence, fit for organizations, movements and parties needs of having a reliable financial databank. The seminar is facilitated to professionalize and to establish a systematic, transparent and

accurate administrative and finance support system for political movements and parties, CDPI conducts political education seminars, leadership trainings and other capacity-building sessions, symposiums to all centrist groups, movements and parties to advance political technocracy to Filipinos nationwide.
