Patrick Mérisier Version 2.

0
My name is Patrick Mérisier and I am a mathematician. I have a degree in mathematics
and computer science from York College of the City University of New York. As a
mathematician I study patterns or hidden structures in nature. I have conducted
mathematical research into isomorphism of graphs under the supervision of Dr. Ravi
Kulkarni, my mentor and one of my intellectual fathers. He imparted two key concepts
to me: that computer science is applied mathematics and that mathematics is the
“language” of science. Incidentally, graph isomorphism is the transformation of a graph
that preserves its structure. An example is shown below.

Graph G Graph H H
Isomorphism G
ƒ(a) = 1

ƒ(b) = 6

ƒ(c) = 8

ƒ(d) = 3

ƒ(g) = 5

ƒ(h) = 2

ƒ(i) = 4

ƒ(j) = 7

Table 1: Isomorphism between G and H. The graphs look different, but have the same structure:
nodes are re-labeled (Source Wikipedia).

The open research question is: how many such transformations are there? Interestingly,
graph isomorphism is used greatly in the pharmaceutical industry where the molecular
structure of a poisonous substance can be represented by a graph and the antidote of the
poison as an isomorphism of that graph. Yup, Math is cool!

I am also a system software engineer, which is the art and science of abstracting real life
systems into a form suitable to be processed by computers. I started my career at IBM
and worked at DELL and HP. I was even a software engineer contractor at Microsoft. As
an engineer, I build systems albeit software systems that solves business problems. The
common characteristics of all systems are: input, process, output. An individual is a
system (eat, digest, pooh); a family is a system (income, investment, retirement); a

Patrick Merisier Version 2.0

community is a system (grants, programs, betterment of the community); a country is a

system since it’s a group of communities.

Finally, I am an ordained minister in the Christian Faith—charged with the responsibility

of serving the poor, the afflicted, the downtrodden, a.k.a. the homeless of the world. Like
Jesus-Christ I am here to serve, not to be served. Like Jesus-Christ who became “sin” to
solve the “sin” problem, I became homeless to solve the homeless problem. (No, I am not
Jesus-Christ, just his servant.) Late in 2002, it dawned on me that homelessness in the
United States represents a basic model of the fundamental problem facing my own
country, Haiti: the inability to care for its most needy citizens. In other words, Haiti, the
poorest country in the Western hemisphere is a “Homeless State.” Most of its citizens
live in worst conditions than the homeless people of the United States. Therefore, any
solution to the homeless problem here is more than adequate for Haiti.

I am happy to report that after 25 years in the United States including 5 years as a
homeless person, I have discovered a solution to the homeless problem. Please note that
I am being very precise by using the word “discovery” here because the solution already
existed. I have simply been able to finally wrap my mind around it. A full account of the
solution will be made available in a book. I now present a rough sketch of the solution to
the homeless problem.

Let’s begin with the bibliography. In a report published by the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Martha Burt, Ph.D., principal researcher, states
that:
The goal of ending chronic homelessness has achieved national prominence in a very
short time. It was first articulated in July 2000, when the #ational Alliance to End
Homelessness included it as part of its ten-year plan to end homelessness altogether. The
Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Mel Martinez
announced his agency’s acceptance of this goal in his keynote speech at the #ational
Alliance’s 2001 conference one year later. Then President Bush made “ending chronic
homelessness in the next decade a top objective” in his FY 2003 Budget. Also by 2003,
the Interagency Council on Homelessness had been reinvigorated to guide and
coordinate the efforts of Federal agencies, two #ew York Times lead editorials argued
forcefully for that goal, the U. S. Conference of Mayors adopted it, and more than 100
cities and some states have committed themselves to developing a plan by 2004 to end
chronic homelessness in the next 10 years.

In an article, “Time for a Common Sense Policy on Homelessness,” published by NHI:

Shelter Force Online Issue #122 Mar/Apr 2002, Dr. Burt further stipulates that:
The results of a decade and a half of research to determine what works to end
homelessness are fairly conclusive about the most effective approaches...When a
community assures that housing exists within reasonable price ranges, offers its members
living-wage jobs, provides schooling good enough to develop the capacity to hold these
jobs, and offers other supports for families and individuals, people can keep themselves
in housing. But far too few communities have these resources or are positioned to
provide them. Without these basic building blocks of a civil society, we are creating an
underclass of persistently poor people vulnerable to homelessness.

Martha Burt’s credentials are on the Urban Institute website:

Martha Burt, principal research associate in the Urban Institute's Center on Labor,
Human Services and Population, is a leading expert on homelessness in America. An
author of Helping America's Homeless: Emergency shelter or affordable housing?"
(UI Press, 2001), she has conducted studies for the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development that identify and describe promising approaches to ending and
preventing homelessness. HUD released "Strategies for Reducing Chronic
Street Homelessness" —the second in the series — in January 2004…

The above writings as well as many other studies by Dr Burt constitute the basis of the
solution to the homeless problem in America. My own empirical research has been to
find one city, town, or community that successfully implements Dr. Burt’s ideas. I have
found such city: It’s Miami, Florida! Of course, the beauty of it all is that the solution is
exportable to Haiti!

A book entitled “Fixing Failed States: A Framework for Rebuilding a Fractured World”
by Ashraf Ghani and Clare Lockhart is another basis of my solution for Haiti. In the
book, Ghani and Lockhart maintain that any nation which cannot satisfy the basic needs
of its people is a failed State. By this definition, Haiti is a failed State in dire need of the
framework of Ghani & Lockhart. Some synopses and reviews of the book are shown
below.

Publisher Comments:
Today between forty and sixty nations, home to close to two billion people, have either
collapsed or are teetering on the brink of failure. The world's worst problems —

terrorism, drugs and human trafficking, absolute poverty, ethnic conflict, disease,
genocide — originate in such states, and the international community has devoted
billions of dollars to solving the problem. Yet by and large the effort has not succeeded.
Military force, while certainly necessary on occasion, cannot solve the fundamental
problems, and humanitarian interventions cost billions yet do not leave capable states in
their wake. Ghani and Lockhart argue that only an integrated state-building approach can
heal these failing countries. As they explain, many of these countries already have the
resources they need, if only we knew how to connect them to global knowledge and put
them to work in the right way. Their state-building strategy, which assigns responsibility
equally among the international community, national leaders, and citizens, maps out a
clear path to political and economic stability. The authors provide a clear, practical
framework for achieving these ends, supporting their case with first-hand examples of
struggling territories such as Afghanistan, Sudan, Kosovo, and Nepal as well as the
world's success stories — Singapore, Ireland, and even the American South.
The battle against terror, poverty, climate change, and much more cannot be won unless
we can save these nations. In Fixing Fixed States, two of the world's foremost authorities
offer a way out of the current crisis — a framework for re-imagining the international
system. It is a book that is unique in its essential optimism — an optimism that the
authors have earned through their own substantial real-world efforts in failed states.
Review:
"Ashraf Ghani is a practitioner turned theoretician. Drawing on his background at the
World Bank and as the first post-Taliban finance minister of Afghanistan, he together
with Clare Lockhart develops a comprehensive framework for understanding the problem
of state-building. He argues persuasively that this will be the central challenge
underpinning world order in our globalized age, and offers practical solutions for meeting
it." Francis Fukuyama, author of State-Building: Governance and World Order in the
21st Century
Review:
"This book is an important and timely alarm bell for the world's next crisis — and proves
that no one knows more about how states function (and don't) than Ghani and Lockhart.
We ignore their remedies at our peril." Hernando de Soto, author of The Mystery of
Capital: Why Capitalism Triumphs in the West and Fails Everywhere Else
Review:
"Ashraf Ghani has held one of the toughest jobs on earth: the Finance Minister
responsible for the reconstruction of Afghanistan. This experience grounds the analysis of
failed states in a rare sense of realism. Here, he and Clare Lockhart cover the full array of
problems that beset failed states, which range far beyond the conventional remit of
development agencies." Paul Collier, author of The Bottom Billion
Synopsis:

The “Individual” psychology of Alfred Adler, co-founder with Sigmund Freud of psycho-
analysis as it used to be called (psychology and psychiatry as it is called now) is the basis
of my solution for Haiti in terms of behaviorial science and mental health system.
Adlerian psychology emphasizes social responsibility, altruism, cooperation, and talk
therapy like Alcohol Anonymous (A.A.); it is often referred to as positive psychology.
Freudian psychology, in contrast, emphasizes narcissism, social irresponsibility due to
uncontrolled (subconscious) drives, fatalism, and medication therapy; it is known as
negative psychology. The current mental health system of America is Freudian. That’s
psychological poison! The antidote is an Adlerian mental health system.

The book entitled “The Structure of Scientific Revolutions” by Thomas S. Khun, Ph.D. is
the basis of my solution as a paradigm shift for Haiti. In his book, Dr. Khun defines
paradigm shift as a new worldview or a new way of doing science. He cites the change
of the Aristotlian view of the world where the earth is the center of the galaxy to the
Copernician view where the sun is the center of the galaxy as a paradigm shift. He also
identifies the shift in the Newtonian (mechanistic/deterministic) view of the world to the
Einsteinist (relativistic) view of the world as another paradigm shift or an upgrade of the
scientific worldview. Although Dr. Kuhn uses the term revolution to describe paradigm
shifts, I use the term upgrade. Paradigm shifts often build on prior systems. Therefore, I
feel it is more appropriate to use the term upgrade with the understanding that if the new
system is incompatible with the old, then it is indeed a revolution; otherwise, if the new
system improves the old, then it is an evolution.

The paradigm shift I propose for Haiti is called Haiti Version 2.0 or Haiti 2.0 or H2.0! It
is an upgrade of how the country of Haiti, the first Black Republic of the world,
interfaces with the world community as a successful State that meets the basic needs of
its people and stops its illegal dumping of “human waste” on other countries in the form
of forced exiles or illegal emigration (refugees). If we understand the State as a system
with human capital as its input, then inevitably some “human waste” (those that don’t “fit
in” the system) will be generated. This is universally true for all nations. However, the
question remains what does a nation do with its human waste? The same way it is illegal
for one nation to dump its nuclear waste on another nation, it must be illegal on a global
basis for one nation to dump its human waste on another. If it does, then it risks losing its
sovereignty!

The last and most pivotal book I’ll mention here is “My Stroke of Insight” by Jill Bolte-
Taylor, Ph.D. In her book, Dr. Bolte-Taylor—a neuro-scientist—describes how she

Patrick Merisier Version 2.0

watched her brain functions shutdown one after another during a stroke she had. She
reports that as one side of her brain, the one that connects her to reality, shut down she
experienced a sense of being “one with the universe.” The way Dr. Bolte-Taylor puts it
on TED or YouTube is like she had a “religious experience” through the mind.
Admittedly, I was jealous of Dr. Bolte-Taylor because she seems totally “in the zone”
when she speaks of her stroke of insight.

Suddenly, I had my own insight. For water to change from liquid to vapor it must first
reach its boiling point! Similarly, I use the term “Bolte-Taylor point” to describe the
sense of being one with the universe. It is the point in one’s life when one’s mental
software is upgraded to version 2.0. It is the transition point between an ethnocentric
worldview to a polycentric viewpoint. It is the passage from being simply citizen of a
nation to being citizen of planet earth. It is what Abraham Maslow would call self-
actualization. By whatever name it is called or by whatever means it is achieved (hers
through a stroke; mine through inspiration), we all need to reach our Bolte-Taylor point
in order to become citizen of Earth version 2.0 or Earth 2.0 or E2.0.

It is thus with great pleasure that I present Patrick Mérisier version 2.0 or Patrick Mérisier
2.0 or P2.0: the one that smiles more after realizing that even a little baby responds better
to a smile than a frown, the one ready to make amends with his family because he was on
a journey to version 2.0, the one that begs the forgiveness of his friends for being so
obstinate and at times even rude, the one that hereby announces his candidacy for the
Presidency of the Republic of Haiti. Yup, that’s the one!

Ooops, did I startle you? Did I surprise you? At least, did I get your attention? Great,
while I have your attention I will move very quickly since full details will be provided in
a book format. Before moving on, however, let’s recap. There are two key points that
must be highlighted from the previous discussion. First, Patrick Mérisier 2.0 intends to
run for the Presidency of Haiti 2.0, a country with a better interface to Earth 2.0—the
new United Nations 2.0 or a new Earth Alliance 2.0. It is essential that all these
conditions be met for the plan to work. Second, the plan is to “fix” Haiti by moving it
from version 1.0 (failed State) to version 2.0 (successful State). This is a 10-year plan
similar to the 10-year plan of most municipalities in the United States to end chronic
homelessness. It makes the abstraction that Haiti is a homeless State and attacks the
problem with the battle cry: Feed their bellies, then feed their minds!

Now, in no particular order allow me to introduce the principal entities of my solution for
Haiti and the relationship between these entities:

Patrick Mérisier 2.0

I have already introduced Patrick Mérisier 2.0 and I have stated that I am a
Mathematician, System Software Engineer, and Christian Minister. Perhaps, you thought
I was bragging, but I was trying to be very precise. It took all three of these specific
trainings to tackle the problem at hand. In particular, the root cause of the homeless
problem is a three-headed monster: bad government, corrupt businesses, and the church.
This monster is actually an isomorphism of an ancient beast that has infiltrated every
aspect of human affairs since the Garden of Eden. The first homeless people were in fact
Adam and Eve. They lost their “home” through the guile of a serpent. That serpent has
morphed itself over the years into the torture machine of the Roman Empire that killed
Jesus-Christ the son of God and later into the torture machine of the Nazis. That ancient
evil is alive and well in the United States of America. I have caught up with one of its
manifestations here in Miami…I am sure it’s in Haiti too. But, Haiti is my country, hence
my problem. In the name of the LORD, I will bind that evil for, say, a thousand years so
Haitians can get on with their lives peacefully and joyfully. Unfortunately, Miami of the
United States of America is Obama’s country. He’s got bigger problems than he thinks…

It would be a grave mistake to dismiss the preceding paragraph as religious propaganda.

In fact, it is the result of my mathematical study in isomorphism. Recall that two graphs
may “look” different, but are actually the same (isomorphic) if their structure is
preserved. The Roman Empire was an efficient system that used conquered people as
slaves for entertainment purposes in its coliseums, for war in its warships, and for general
cheap labor. Its splendor and glory were built on human suffering, not unlike the Nazis
who used Jews as lab rats. Now, our prison system, our pharmaceutical industry, our
mental health system, our businesses, etc. need people as cheaply as possible. They all
concoct elaborate schemes and devise fake crises to achieve their goal by degrading
human dignity with meaningless work and/or meaningless wage. Who would do such a

Patrick Merisier Version 2.0

thing? The serpent of old, the liar-in-chief, the prince of darkness, of course! In the
famous words of General Colin Powell, the way to kill a serpent is to “cut off its head!”

Yup, the battle is not with flesh and blood. Moses, the Slave-Prince, knew that. David,
the Shepherd-King, understood that. Jesus, the Man-God, told us that. And Patrick, the
Homeless-Servant, finally believes that: O nom dé Létènèl, nap krazé dyab la san
baton1…

It is important to note that the above opinions are my own as one instance of Patrick
Merisier 2.0. There was another Patrick Mérisier 2.0, a hero of human rights for the
Haitians, who was murdered in Haiti not too long ago. So, the label 2.0 transcends me. It
belongs to a new breed of leaders that put duty to, and well-being of, their constituents
before personal interests. By this definition, President Barack Obama of the United States
of America is version 2.0. Nelson Mandela of South Africa, who after years of suffering
the injustices of Apartheid rose up and united his people, is version 2.0. Jimmy Carter,
the Peacemaker, is version 2.0. Jean-Bertrand Aristide, the President-Priest, is version
2.0. General Colin Powell who bravely crossed party-line to support Obama is version
2.0. These leaders and countless others are ready for the 21st century and beyond. (We
could also say that they have reached their Bolte-Taylor point.)

Haiti 2.0
The Haiti 2.0 Project is the name of my campaign for the Presidency of the Republic of
Haiti. Haiti 2.0 is also the goal of my 10-year plan to transform Haiti from a failed State
to a successful State. Haiti 2.0 is expected to be a relevant and responsible member of the
world community just as it was in 1801 when the first of the freed blacks, Toussaint
Louverture, wrote the first Haitian Constitution. The upgrade from Haiti 1.0 to Haiti 2.0
is the following.

Haiti is divided into 10 departments (roughly equivalent to counties) with their capitals
shown in parentheses. (Source: Wikipidia)
1. Artibonite (Gonaïves)
2. Centre (Hinche)
3. Grand’ Anse (Jérémie)
4. Nippes (Miragoâne)
5. Nord (Cap-Haïtien)
6. Nord-Est (Fort-Liberté)
7. Nort-Ouest (Port-de-Paix)
8. Ouest (Port-au-Prince)
9. Sud-Est (Jacmel)
10. Sud (Les Cayes)

The departments are further divided into 41 arrondissements (roughly equivalent to

cities) and 133 communes (roughly equivalent to districts).

1
In the name of the LORD, we shall defeat the devil with no weapon.

Patrick Merisier Version 2.0

Each of these municipalities will be required to implement a 10-year plan that provides
housing, food, job, education, and health care for its people. Mathematical set theory can
be used here. Let the nation be a set of housing, food, job, education, and health care
resources denoted by N={{housing},{food},{job},{education}, {health care}} then each
municipality is a 5-tuple M={<housing units, food items, jobs, education facilities, health
care facilities>} allocated by need and population density. Each municipality will be
held accountable for the efficient utilization of these resources.

A support system of transportation and communication will be required. It will be the

duty of this generation to build the necessary infrastructure for the next generation.

How will we pay for all this, you asked? The answer is the same one I gave to a 17 year
old Haitian young man, the first person I discussed my plans with: the LORD will
provide! Yes, he too was skeptical. But I repeat: the LORD will provide because he
always makes provision for the vision!

Earth 2.0
None of the efforts cited above will avail to much if some arbitrary foreign power can
dictate to the Haitian people who should lead them. If some foreign power can snap its
fingers and create mayhem in Haiti, then our future is bleak indeed. Therefore, I am
formally accusing the current United Nations of being at version 1.0 or not ready for the
21st century. Haiti is one of the original members the United Nations and is guaranteed
protection, non-aggression, and friendship from all the other members according to the
United Nations Charter. Where is that protection? Where is that friendship? By the way,
Cuba and Iraq are original members as well. So, why the embargo against Cuba and why
the war (aggression of one member toward another) in Iraq? Those are direct violations
of the United Nations Charter.

If the United Nations cannot enforce its charter and keep its members in check, it should
be dissolved! I hereby call for a new Earth Alliance of nations, Earth 2.0, with planetary
federation powers. No single nation of the new Earth Alliance can unilaterally declare
war against another member of the alliance, not the United States, not Russia, not China,
not Iran, not Venezuela, not England, not Israel, not Haiti! Any such infraction would
mean war against all the other member nations. That’s real deterrence! What’s the point?
It’s high time we all grew up and learned to live peacefully as good neighbors on this
earth; otherwise, we risk destroying this earth, our only home and unique real-estate in
the cosmos, thereby becoming cosmic homeless people!

I intend to opine greatly on the nature of a new Earth Alliance in the future. For now,
suffice it to say:
• The home of the new Earth Alliance shall be in Haiti (La Gonâve or La Tortue).
• Haiti shall have a permanent seat at the security council with veto power (the only
nation—being the least of the nations—with such privilege).
• Haiti shall only represent the judicial branch of the new Earth Alliance.

Patrick Merisier Version 2.0

• Only China, being the world’s bank where even the U.S. borrows from, will
remain at the security council with veto power. (The other members have misused
their power, so they shall be stripped of it).
• China shall represent the executive branch and the treasury of the new Earth
Alliance.
• The mightiest nations or group of nations such as U.S., U.K., Russia, European
Union, NATO, African Union, etc. will be the enforcers of the new Earth Alliance
Charter. These nations know, or are defined by, war. Let them keep the peace of
Earth 2.0!
• Never again shall a Coup d’Etat be heard of in Haiti or any nation of the new
Earth Alliance. It shall not be allowed nor shall there be any exiles or refugees!

WE THE PEOPLES OF THE U<ITED <ATIO<S DETERMI<ED

• to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has
brought untold sorrow to mankind, and
• to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in
the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, and
• to establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties
and other sources of international law can be maintained, and
• to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom,

A<D FOR THESE E<DS

• to practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbours, and
• to unite our strength to maintain international peace and security, and
• to ensure, by the acceptance of principles and the institution of methods, that armed force shall
not be used, save in the common interest, and
• to employ international machinery for the promotion of the economic and social advancement
of all peoples,

HAVE RESOLVED TO COMBI<E OUR EFFORTS TO ACCOMPLISH THESE AIMS

Accordingly, our respective Governments, through representatives assembled in the city of San
Francisco, who have exhibited their full powers found to be in good and due form, have agreed to the
present Charter of the United Nations and do hereby establish an international organization to be known
as the United Nations.

Miami 2.0
I officially moved to Miami, Florida, U.S.A. from Texas on January 20, 2009, on the
inauguration of President Barack Obama, via Greyhound Bus. I came to Miami to be
deported back to Haiti since the U.S. seems to never miss a chance to threaten Haitians
with deportation. I knew that once I ruffle their feathers long enough, they (the powers
that be) would revert back to their old tricks of human right violations and illegally
deport me. Yes, I came to Miami with a chip on my shoulder having been fired yet again

Patrick Merisier Version 2.0

by Allstate Insurance Company through Kelly Temporary Services. Yes, another big
company tricked me into building a SQL server 2005/Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0
application for it for $11.65/hr. I gave Allstate the application in binary format. I was
fired because I refused to give Allstate the source code. (Again, this is not new. DELL,
HP, and others did the same to me. I’ve either left, gotten fired, or asked to resign.
Isomorphism strikes again.) At 46 years of age, I was really tired of the rat race! So, I
came to Miami as a homeless/refugee in order to judge for myself how Miami treats its
less fortunate residents.

Figure 2: My Legal Status in the U.S. (I was 21 years old when I came to the U.S. through Miami
International Airport).

Miami has pleasantly surprised me. It is one of the most modern and richest cities in the
world and so far the most successful in terms of how it handles its poorest residents or its
“human” waste. I squarely give credit to the people of Miami who not only pay an extra
tax for the homeless, but also risk being fined by the authorities for feeding and clothing
the homeless on the street. Every night, there are enough shelters available for the
homeless of Miami, but many (myself included) prefer to stay on the street where they
get fed gourmet food by the People of Miami (no outside food allowed in the shelters). I
speak of the homeless man I met on the train (Miami-Dade Transit Metrorail System)
with a box full of chicken wings given to him by a Popeye restaurant, the cars that stop
by and offer anything from Pizza to Chinese food to Haitian food to the homeless, the
Chinese family who served hot dogs, the beautiful Hispanic young lady (about 19 years
old) who dug through bags of clothes to find me a pair of pants after politely asking
“what do you need” with a certain “I can fix it” attitude that I like, and the beautiful
Haitian young lady (about 17 years old) who volunteered at the Camillus House Shelter
in Downtown Miami and who cheerfully asked “May I serve you” wanting to re-fill my
cup with juice.

Patrick Merisier Version 2.0

In fact, it was an epiphany when I saw the youth of the poorest country of this
hemisphere (Haiti) feed the hungry and the homeless of the richest country of the world
(USA). I too, like Obama, do say: Haiti, yes we can and yes we shall feed our own people
and rebuild our own country. Our ancestors—who freed themselves from the tyranny of
France (an ancient thorn on Haiti’s side, a splinter in Haiti’s heel) and who built the
Haitian Citadel, one of the wonders of the world—were not more educated and not as
sophisticated as we are. So, what are we waiting for?

Leadership?

Well, here I am. I volunteer! Who am I you ask? I am the one who took on the challenge
in 1996 of fixing the IDE storage subsystem of IBM computers. When I joined IBM, the
problem was that a 4GB IBM IDE drive would not work on an IBM computer. As a
result, the company was losing customers and bleeding money. Within six months of
joining IBM (June to December 1996) I fixed all the IDE related problems and got a huge
bonus and a $3000 raise for it. Ask Seagate and Quantum, IDE drive suppliers to IBM.
Ask Palmissano, CEO of IBM. He was the General Manager of the PC division at that
time.

I am the one who took on the challenge of implementing a component-based (highly

modular) BIOS for Phoenix Technologies when Intel introduced the first IA-64
processor, Merced now known as Itanium. Rumors have it that Intel and Phoenix Irvine,
California tried unsuccessfully for two years to develop a BIOS for Merced until the
project was given to Phoenix Norwood, Massachusetts where I worked. I was a junior
member of the team, yet I was selected to present our PhoenixBIOS64 solution at an IA-
64 symposium in September 2000 hosted by INTEL. The PhoenixBIOS64 is the first
commercial BIOS that successfully booted the Intel IA-64 processor platform. I
architected the source tree. Ask BULL, UNISIS, DELL, IBM, INTEL. They were at the
symposium. Ask Al Sisto, CEO of Phoenix. He fired the PhoenixBIOS64 team.

I am the one who took on the challenge of helping DELL build its first Brick/Blade
server. DELL unsuccessfully tried for many years to enter the Blade server market. In
fact, I became team lead of the project by default since no one else wanted the job (the
designated team lead had quit). I not only modernized the DELL server BIOS, but did it
in record time. My team booted the first DELL blade server in 48 hours although 30 days
had been assigned to the task. DELL fired me a few months later so it could take credit
for my work.

I am the one who took on the challenge of making the AMD Dual-Core processor
actually work on a real platform. Apparently, the AMD Dual-Core Processor only
worked in a simulated environment. But, when I joined HP formerly Compaq in Houston,
Texas as a contractor, I worked with the AMD engineers to make the Dual-Core
processor work on the HP Commercial Laptop platform. The solution was so novel that
an AMD engineer exclaimed “we’ve never seen anything like this!” HP and AMD had
been trying for almost a year to make the Dual-Core processor work. I joined HP in

October right after the Katrina/Rita hurricanes. By December, the AMD Dual-Core
processor worked so well on the HP platform that my contract was extended to add
support for 64-bit Windows which was done as well. Ask AMD and HP.

The only thing my coworkers will tell you is that I am not the friendliest person to work
with, but I get the job done. How does my work experience translate to running a
country? It’s just another system or just another project to me. Bring it on!

Financial Assistance?

I had hoped that the global financial crisis would teach us all that money is not the real
currency of the world: it’s trust between individuals, businesses, and nations. But I recall
that Jesus once sent some disciples to open the mouth of a fish to find money. Likewise,
so that you may believe, let’s talk briefly about real financial assistance to Haiti. (I say
real assistance because President Aristide was promised financial assistance which never
materialized. How dumb would we be to trust the same people again?)

First, the Bible says what one sows, one shall reap. What has Haiti sown? Let the record
show that after Haiti gained its independence it helped many nearby countries including
South America in gaining their own independence. In particular, on Biscayne Boulevard
in Downtown Miami, there is a statue of Simon Bolivar as liberator of South America.
But, which country helped Simon Bolivar? Haiti! Here is the quote at the bottom of the
statue of Simon Bolivar in Miami:
#ACIO E# CARACAS-VE#EZUELA EL 24 DE JULIO DE 1783. MURIO E#
SA#TA MARIA-COLOMBIA EL 17 DE DICIEMBRE DE 1830. “PO#GAMOS
SI# TEMOR LA PIEDRA FU#DAME#TAL DE LA LIBERTAD
SUDAMERICA#A: VACILAR ES PERDER#OS.” DISCURSO E# LA
SOCIEDAD PATRIOTICA. CARACAS 3 AL 4 DE JULIO 1811.

Hello Venezuela, buddy, old pal! I hear you’ve got oil, money, world class education,
and other good stuff. Do you think you could help us (lowly Haitians) out? I’ll let you
decide how much you want to help because the good book also says one shall be
measured by the measure he measures others. Hello Colombia, buddy, old pal! Can we
talk?

Second, allow me to solve a few world crises and see how much that’s worth:
Arabs, Jews, Islamist, Catholics, Protestants, Buddhists, Terrorists, Patriots, Gangsters,
Mafiosos, etc: I come to you in the name of the Almighty God, the only true God, creator
of the universe, the Holy God whom you may know by various names depending on your
culture and I say: PUT YOUR WEAPON DOWN! That’s the only way the world can
really determine who is the aggressor and real terrorist. If you are of God you will heed
my voice; otherwise, you will not. That is your choice. Those who do heed my voice,
you’ll suffer for a little while. Your children will fall by the bombs and smart weaponry
of the ancient serpent. Cry, lament, and burry your children. Their blood shall fall on the
head of their assassins. Remember Earth 2.0 is coming and you will have a seat at the
justice table.

Let me be more specific. Jews: your ancestor Abraham was an Iraqi man (from Ur,
Chaldea which is now Southern Iraq). Arabs: the Jews are your half-brothers from your
common Abrahamic ancestry. So, the whole Israeli-Palestinian/Arab conflict sounds like
sibling rivalry. If the Jews want to kill all the Palestinians, let them. The Palestinian
culture is secure because there are enough horny Palestinians in the world to remake
Palestine ten times over. Then all the Arabs should get together and kill all the Jews.
Don’t worry, there are enough horny Jews in one square mile of Brooklyn, New York to
remake the Jewish nation ten times over. But, do remember that the Persian Empire could
not destroy the Jews; the Roman empire could not destroy the Jews; The Nazis could not
destroy the Jews; and neither can the Arabs. The LORD also promised Abraham that he
would be with his son Ishmael in the desert. So, the Jews cannot destroy the Arabs. God
won’t allow it. Am I being irresponsible? I don’t think so. Recall that God himself
offered to destroy the rebellious Jews that came from Egypt and remake the nation with
the descendants of Moses. Am I being anti-semitic? I don’t think so. I serve the God of
the Jews, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob. One of his names is love as well as
LORD of HOSTS or He who does battle! Which side of him do you want to meet? It’s
your choice! So, to the Arabs and the Jews, I say work your own peace accord. But,
whatever you promise one another, you’d better deliver. That’s the way we do it on Earth
2.0!

Now when enduring peace does befall the Middle-East not by might, but by common
sense, do you think the Arabs and the Jews might be generous enough to help us—the
lowly Haitians?

How about the Iranian affair? Should Iran have nuclear weapons? No, it’s not worth it
with the current United Nations. But, a resounding YES with the new Earth Alliance,
Earth 2.0! Nuclear energy belongs to all the nations of the earth; its safe use shall be
guaranteed by the new Earth Alliance, not by the mightier nations! (Maybe, I am just
being partial to the Iranians because one of my teachers, Professor Momtazi, was
Iranian.)

Conclusion
Where do we go from here? I have first spoken of my plan to run for the Presidency of
the Republic of Haiti with the Haitian youth represented by 17 year old, Markenson of
Little Haiti, Miami. He wants to go to college in the United States and return to Haiti to
become a Night Club Owner (those are his words). I want a new Haiti 2.0 where
Markenson can fulfill his dreams without having to bribe some official. I am running for
the youth, the next generation of Haitians.

I have also spoken of my plan with the Haitian consulate in Miami, which has advised me
on the legal and political procedures to run for the Presidency of Haiti. Now, it is up to
the people of Haiti and friends of the people of Haiti to show their support. My PayPal e-
mail account is p0trick@hotmail.com (it’s the number zero after the p). Let me hear your
vote!
