Substitutes-
from Laramie for the summer, veteran Giant Charlie Wild followed Huhn and was hit by a wild
pitch and got a free pass to 1st. Grant Smith followed Wild and as well, waited for a delivery to
swing at that never came from the
Rebel Pitcher, Colangeld who
seemed to be plagued with the
same mysterious ailment our
Jackson pitchers had in Montana
the week before.
Now with the bases
loaded, clean-up hitter Sky
Garnick approached the plate and
drove the first pitch into deep
right-center field for a stand up 2
RBI double. The Jackson faithful
Colter Huhn gets congrats from 1st base coach Matt Wild after his successful
were finally able to breath a sigh of
bunt
relief and then got downright silly
as Carlos Toledo crushed a triple
to deep left-center scoring
Garnick. The pitcher Colangeld
must have been rattled as he
walked Bryn Windle who was
followed by Lucas Moulder.
Moulder also watched the first two
pitches as they were off of the
strike zone before going to the
opposite field with an outside
strike doubling and scoring
Carlos Toledo relaxes after reaching 2nd safely
Windle. The merry-go-round
didn’t stop there as #9 hitter Dusty
Treick was able to load the count and force another walk out of Colangeld. Batting around for
the first time of the season, Colter Huhn shot a dying quail over 2nd baseman Mike Woody’s
head scoring Moulder from 2nd. Charlie Wild up for the second time in the 1st inning hit a deep
sacrifice fly to right field scoring both Treick and the zippy Huhn. The inning ended with Grant
Smith hitting a high chopper to the 3rd baseman who converted the throw to an out to end
Evanston’s early inning woes…..defensively. Offensively, the Rebels had no idea what they
were in for as Lucas Moulder took the mound with a determiniation to redeem himself from the
awkward outing in Three Forks, Montana the week before. The first victim, Colangeld went
down swinging with 3 straight strikes.
Moulder tried mixing up his pitches with the #2 batter, Hicks and walked him bringing up
Ochinero who looked at 3 and sat down. Rebel clean-up hitter, JR Woody hit a routine ground
ball to 3rd where Giants 3rd sacker Colter Huhn casually scooped it up and threw a rope to 1st
baseman, Grant Smith to retire the side.
With a 9-0 lead after the first inning our Hometown Heroes settled into the 2nd inning
confident to pack more runs on and pack them on they did with a lead off double from Garnick,
an RBI single from Toledo, Bryn Windle reached base on an error from Rebel first baseman,
Gary Richardson and was followed by a slow rolling infield base hit by Moulder. With the
bases full, Dusty Treick again proved too patient for the Rebel pitcher and walked for the second
time thereby scoring Bryn Windle, resulting in an RBI the easy way for Treick. Later, the #2
hitter, Charlie Wild hit a beautiful RBI single scoring Moulder which tacked on a total of another
4 runs before the Giants were retired.

Wrap-up-
Notable hitters for Jackson were Sky Garnick who had a perfect game at the plate going 5
for 5 with 3 singles and 2 doubles. Rookie sensation Carlos “The Torpedo” Toledo also went 5
for 5 hitting 3 singles and 2 triples. Lucas Moulder faired well at the plate hitting 3 for 4 with 2
singles, 1 double and a walk.
Defensively, Lucas Moulder held court over the Rebels striking out 9 and only giving up
2 hits before being replaced for the last 1/3 of the 4th inning by reliever Sky Garnick who
promptly hit the first batter he faced, perhaps sending him a message but exactly what the
majority of Garnick’s messages are, usually remain a mystery. After delivering the telegram,
Garnick then got the Evanston #1 hitter to fly out to right field, which was the only ball hit out
of the infield by the Rebels.
