Activity Procedures a.Pre-Listening

Teacher shows a picture and ask a few questions to students 1) What do you see in the picture? 2) What happened to the moon? 3) What is the colour of the moon? Inform students The students will listen to the poem once Highlight the vocabulary above and get students to guess the meaning of wonder, nest, lightning, fluffy, bit, flash, paint Play the CD again. Tell the student to complete the Activity 1 in the handout given to them Discuss the answers with the students

b.While Listening

Possible answers : I wonder why the grass is green And why the wind is never seen Who taught the birds to build a nest And told the trees to take a rest O, when the moon is not quite round Where can the missing bit be found? Who light the stars, when they blow out And makes the lightning flash about? Who paint the rainbow in the sky And hangs the fluffy clouds so high? Why is it now, do you suppose That Dad wont tell me, if he knows

c.Post-Listening

Ask the students to complete Activity 2 in handout 1 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Why the grass green? Why do birds build nests? What is the thing cannot be seen? How does the poet know it exists? Why do children ask a lot of questions

When they students are ready, they can turn to the person next to them and compare what they have written Ask students to tell others what they have written
