Application for Appointment

WCHS Student Council Appointed Officers and Committee Chairs


The Student Council, in accordance with its constitution and by laws, announces the following positions that are to be filled by appointment. Any student may submit an application for one of these positions. The Executive Board will review the applications and make appointments to these positions. If you would like to apply for one of these positions, please complete the application packet. The Executive Board reserves the right to select those persons it deems to be qualified.

Office Appointment
I am interested in applying for the following position: (please indicate a first, second, and third choice.) _____ Historian an appointed member of the Executive Board; responsible for publicity (including preparing slides for the announcements, taking pictures, creating a slideshow/video and scrapbook to document the year, and being our liaison to the yearbook and the Waycross Journal Herald). The Historian also assists the President in conducting meetings. _____ Parliamentarian Chairperson responsible for overseeing the use of parliamentary procedures during meetings and act as guardian of the constitution _____ Reporter Responsible for news articles of Student Council Activities, production of materials to publicize events and activities, and the Student Council Bulletin Board.

Committee Appointment
I am interested in applying for the following position: (please indicate a first, second, and third choice.) _____ School Spirit Chairperson responsible for planning monthly activities related to school spirit and pride, including two Spirit Weeks, lunch activities/games, Tshirts, dances, etc.probably the position that requires the most work, time and dedication, but also one of the most high profile position. _____ Honors and Recognition Chairperson responsible for planning monthly activities related to the promotion of excellence among students and the recognition of achievement and contributions of the student body (in academics, clubs, and athletics). _____ Faculty and Staff Relations/Recognition Chairperson responsible for planning monthly activities to promote recognition of the contributions for the faculty, boost morale, and encourage harmony between the faculty and students. _____ Fundraising Chairperson responsible for organizing ideas with regards to fundraising initiatives in order to earn profit for the Student Council Club. _____ Citizenship Chairperson responsible for planning activities to promote the development and education of caring and responsible school, community, state, national, and global citizens who are committed to peace, human rights, democracy and sustainable development, open to other cultures, able to appreciate the value of freedom, respectful of human dignity and differences, and able to prevent conflicts or resolve them by non-violent means. These activities may include, but are not limited to, the recognition of various national and global holidays, culture

fairs/education, current/historical events education, and voter registrations. _____ School Council Chairperson(s) responsible for attending all School Council meetings to represent the interest of the student body of Ware County High School
