Introduction
This section provides all the record layouts needed for you to create your own software to
participate in the Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) process.
Record Layout Changes for 2006-2007

There were no start or end position or field length changes to any of the fields on the record
layouts for the 2006-2007 award year. However, some of the valid content has changed. View
the Changes column in each layout for the specific changes.
The Data Release Number (DRN) field on the 2005-2006 ISIR Record Layout, field 137, has
changed to filler for the 2006-2007 year. The DRN will function as it has in the past and the
student will have the same access to the DRN, however it will not be included in the ISIR file.
We anticipate major changes to the record layouts for the 2007-2008 award year.
Request Title in ISIR Files

To identify the group of ISIRs belonging to your datamart requests, a request title for each query
is returned in the resulting ISIR file sent to your school. The title appears as the first detail line
in the ISIR file after the SAIG header record. The title will be in positions 1 to 50. Positions 51
to 2600 will be blank.
In addition, to ensure that the ISIR data from CPS for all ISIR records is consistent for your
school’s software, this request title is part of the daily and pushed ISIR files you receive. For
these ISIR files, the first detail line contains all blanks in positions 1 to 2600. Examples are
listed below:
