MEDIA RELEASE

27 MARCH 2013

Dear Federal Member / Senator Collectively as industry and along with affected communities, we believe the Management Plans before Federal Parliament relating to the Marine Bio-Regional Planning Process (MBPP), are unacceptable and must be disallowed by Parliament. This process has been rushed, consultation has been very poor and importantly, the process delivers far less for the environment than can or should be achieved. Industry and the communities affected believe we must get this right. In our view we must revisit the MBPP and do it properly by revisiting the process. Industry, communities and the environment deserve a more sophisticated, holistic and science driven public policy process.
