Developer
A Junior Java Developer is responsible for designing, developing and delivering high-quality and well-performing web-based Java applications to support business requirements. Initially the work will be primarily supporting existing web applications with design and development focus shifting to User Interface and Testing requirements, but the applicant should be prepared and proficient enough to work with back end development for large java applications. Additionally, this person will work with support and implementation efforts to assist in designing, testing, and delivering solutions for our customers. Candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision in an often fast-paced environment. Core Responsibilities: Use development methodologies (Agile, SCRUM), development tools (Eclipse, Subversion, Ant/Maven, Hudson/Jenkins) to design/ develop large scale web applications on standard application platforms (JBoss, Tomcat). Design/Develop the User Interface in HTML/CSS/JS in a Java environment for large scale web applications. Design/Develop automated testing scripts/application for large scale web applications. Maintain existing applications and create reports/fix defects to maintain current customer requirements/satisfaction includ ing documentation where necessary. Preferred/Bonus Requirements: BIRT report (SQL/JS) writing experience Apache Wicket, Spring or Hibernate experience Web-based application testing and interface design experiences NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Data Grid, Redis, etc.) experience Unix/Linux OS/Scripting experience Education & Experience Requirements: The qualified candidate will have a Bachelors of Computer Science or equivalent degree and 1 year of Java programming experience (coursework is acceptable) developing web-based applications using Java technologies including some experience with JDBC, Servlets or JSPs, and SQL in general. Experience in deploying, supporting, or customizing J2EE applications is a big plus. A strong desire to learn from experienced mentors and a willingness to contribute are a must.
