Communion

All take communion bread (dont eat yet!) The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. In him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible Whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Eat bread All take communion wine (dont drink yet!) And he is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven You have made peace with both us and creation by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross Drink wine All gather wildflower seeds to scatter at the base of the tree

Call to Worship
Come, let us return to the LORD! He has torn us in pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds. In just a short time, he will restore us so we can live in his presence. Oh, that we might know the LORD! Let us press on to know him! Then he will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring. (Hosea 6:1-3)

Benediction
We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth. We ourselves, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to son-ship, the redemption of our bodies. The creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. Send us out, so that creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God!

Planting the Tree

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse (Rev 21:1-3)

Lord, we rejoice at your resurrection from the tomb this day, so long ago. Just as your body was resurrected, so too will you resurrect all of creation! You have lifted every curse from our lives! We celebrate even now the resurrection life which runs like sap through our veins, joining with the Spirit who sustains all of creation And so we remember as we plant this new tree how you yourself have become our tree of life, Lord Jesus Dave plants the tree into the ground, all help plant the tree by putting compost on top.

Worship Song Beautiful Scandalous Night

Brian on guitar Go on up to the mountain of mercy To the crimson perpetual tide Kneel down on the shore Be thirsty no more Go under and be purified CHORUS Go on up to the mountain of mercy To the crimson perpetual tide Kneel down on the shore Be thirsty no more Go under and be purified Follow Christ to the holy mountain Sinner sorry and wrecked by the fall Cleanse your heart and your soul In the fountain that flowed For you and for me and for all CHORUS At the wonderful, tragic, mysterious tree On that beautiful, scandalous night you and me Were atoned by His blood and forever washed white On that beautiful, scandalous night On the hillside, you will be delivered At the foot of the cross justified And your spirit restored By the river that poured From our blessed Saviour's side CHORUS Go on up to the mountain of mercy To the crimson perpetual tide Kneel down on the shore Be thirsty no more Go under and be purified

Opening Liturgy Call and Response

The earth is the LORDs, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; For he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters. Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. They will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God their Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob! Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle! Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almightyhe is the King of glory! Lord, be present to us by your life-giving Spirit, who renews the face the earth, as we await your return and the promised dawn of your New Creation. Resurrect in us today the power of new life and new hope!

Confession: Digging Muddy Puddles

Lord you spoke once through your prophet Jeremiah: My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water. Lord, we recognise that by digging our own broken cisterns, by following the dark desires of our hearts, we have often sinned against you and against creation. Our lust for more stuff, our lack of integrity in recycling and forgiveness, our inaction for caring for our plot of earth in Possil and the people of our community, Has harmed creation, harmed our fellow man, and offended you, our beloved creator. Preparation for the Eucharist starts with digging a hole for tree planting (Dave) Each person follows, with a trowel for the kids. At the end, put some manure in the hole

Christs crucifixion on the Tree of Calvary

We remember now that a tree was chopped down to make the timber cross upon which our Lord and Saviour died. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree. This Easter, Lord, have mercy on us who sin against you and your creation. We give praise to the Lord of Creation that you gave yourself to death on a tree to pay the price of our sins against creation, man and God. We receive your forgiveness deep in the core of our being. Leader takes some communion wine and pours it onto the soil around the tree (Paul) We remember, Lord, that your blood made the very earth of creation holy as it touched the ground beneath your cross. For God so loved the universe that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Healing Water in the Well

And yet the Lord also said: I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs. (Isaiah 41:18) And just as the people of Jericho said to Elisha, so we say of Possil: Look, Lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive. Bring me a new bowl, he said, and put salt in it. So they brought it to him. Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, This is what the LORD says: I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive. Everyone takes a cup, fills it with water, puts a pinch of salt in it, and pours water into the hole
