Summary
1. Nd-BR has the lowest vinyl content besides being very linear.

2. Nd-BR provides the highest level of croslinking

3. Owing to its microstructure/macrostructure, Nd-BR provides


the lowest level of rolling resistance available to the compounds

4. The addition of BR to the NR-based compound helps to provide


some additional scorch safety time besides improvements for
abrasion loss, lower rolling resistance and lower heat build-up.

5. Overall, the addition of BR helps to improve the end properties of


NR-based compounds with Nd-BR being the best choice.

6. To attain much lower rolling resistance and heat build-up, it may


be necessary to blend silica into the formulation with the black.
