About the Course The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Kenya Branch has organised the above twoday tutorial course to be held at Nairobi club on:Tutorial 1 15th March, 2013 Tutorial 2 12th April, 2013 This course is designed to give you an understanding of the general principles of the Law of Contract, Tort and Evidence. The course will be conducted by Tutors who are senior practicing arbitrators from the Branch. The above course is due to commence on 15th February, 2013 were participants are expected to collect their reading material in preparation for the Tutorials. This Course is for: Those who are at the moment classified as Associate Members and are NonLawyers by profession. Those who passed the Entry Course in Arbitration Law & Practice Examination and are Non-Lawyers by profession. Those who wish to improve their knowledge of the Law of Contract, Tort & Evidence even if they do not wish to participate at the exam.

Course Assessment If you wish to progress to member level, you will need to pass the following:1. 2. 3. 4. 5. An assignment on Law of Tort 5% of final marks An assignment on Contract Law 10% of final marks An assignment on Evidence 20% of final marks. Written examination Contract Law 40% of final marks Written examination Law of Tort 25% of final marks

Course Fees The Course fee is Kshs 26,000/-. The fee includes the course materials, coffee/tea and lunch. The fee can also be paid by instalments provided the first instalment of Kenya Shillings 13,000/- is received on or before the closing date of Friday 15th February, 2013 and the balance paid in full before Friday 15th March, 2013. Examination Fees The Exam fee is Kshs 20,500/-. The fee can also be paid by instalments provided all instalments are paid before Friday 12th April, 2013. Venue The tutorials will be held at Nairobi Club. Programme Tutorial Timings: 08.00 to 17.00 hours.
