INTRO TO CREDIT RECOVERY

Course Description: Online Credit Recovery is an inviting, interactive learning environment that will help guide you toward academic success and provide you the opportunity to hop back on the path to graduation. The design of these courses will provide you with meaningful instructional content but also show you how that content relates to the real world!

We know you will be successful in here. However, you have to believe this as well!

If you just do what one expects of you, you will be more successful than half of those people around you!

What Can You Expect from your Online Learning Facilitator? Maintains a positive attitude Monitors your progress, provides feedback to you on a regular basis and helps motivate you to stay on task Provides one-on-one assistance and modifies your course according to your needs Troubleshoots technological issues Knows your curriculum and helps you anticipate major assignments such as Unit Tests and Final Exams Communicates your progress with your parents, guardians and counselors Bottom Line: Does everything they can to help coach you to success!

Credit Recovery Expectations and Procedures: Expectations: 1. Please Exhibit a Positive Attitude a. If you view this course as punishment, you will not be successful. Successful changes must first begin with YOU! 2. Please Provide Consistent Effort b. Success here is similar to a snowball rolling down a mountain. The snowball grows in size each roll. Your success here grows in size each day youre working online. 3. Please Take Notes c. Note taking is required and vital to your understanding of the course materials. Please always leave your notes and course packet inside the classroom. 4. Please Use Computer For Course Only d. Please refrain from using the Internet unless it directly relates to a topic you are studying. If you consistently use the Internet for non-academic purposes AND are significantly behind in your course; you will be removed from the program with a non-passing grade. 5. Please Support Your Classmates e. We are all here to accomplish the same goal. Please help keep an active, quiet and respectful learning environment so all students may succeed. 6. Please Communicate with Your Facilitator f. This is not a traditional learning environment. If you are struggling with a concept, it is your responsibility to communicate these struggles to your facilitator. Please inform your facilitator when you have any questions or concerns. Procedures for Beginning Each Class: 1. Smile and say Good Day to your teacher. 2. Grab your credit recovery folder from the class bin. 3. Grab any materials needed for that days work such as note organizers, calculator, pencils, extra paper, books, etc. 4. Check your grades for your other traditional courses as shown on the Home Access Center. a. You need to make sure you are successful in all your classes not just in Online Credit Recovery. b. Your welcome to e-mail your traditional teachers during class regarding your other grades. 5. Log into APEX and check your current course progress. a. Open your Activity Details Page and view whether or not you are on pace (green), just off pace (yellow) or significantly behind pace (red). i. Feel free to update your position on the stoplights in the back of the room. 6. If you have any questions or concerns, please consult with your facilitator, otherwise begin working on your course.
