Concluding School Based Experience Report I am grateful that School Based Experience in SK Kidurong 2 has ended fruitfully.

It is a school of 1105 students and 83 teachers. This particular school is lead by Mdm Jamaah binti Muris and assisted by Puan Sepia, the senior assistant of Sk Kidurong 2. Through observation, checklist and interview, I have a clear insight of school management. The role of headmaster or headmistress is as head master. The headmaster should be a master teacher and serve as a model for excellence in both in and out of the classroom. When managing a school, the headmaster or headmistress must have a systematic plan which is able to follow by fellow teachers, staffs and students of a school. They must also work hand in hand to make the plan possible. Puan Jamaah is a good example. She is very professional in handling the school by contributing ideas and plans to make the school a better studying place. Other than that, the school never neglected the students welfare. Students are given full education according to the syllabus. For the students who are going to sit for UPSR examination, the school conducted extra classes for them. For the students who have difficulties reading, writing or calculating, they will be assigned to a particular teacher to improve their skills. Besides, the schools infrastructure creates a suitable place for the students to spend their time wisely. The library, for example, has been helping in developing the students reading skills. For sports, there is a sports equipment room and a field for them to have physical activities such as playing football and playing badminton. Although some facilities are not provided, it never stops the teachers in teaching the children. Plus, there is a school clinic that gives a place for students to rest in case they are sick. Moreover, the discipline problem is taken care of from time to time. For problematic students, they will be punished according to a guide book. That particular guide book stated the types of punishment given to different types of offense. Only the discipline teachers and PK Hem is allowed to cane the students. For discipline of students is essential to help in improving the academic level, the discipline teachers make a lot of effort to control discipline issues in school. For example, spot check is done twice a year to help to regulate the discipline problem.

The discipline teacher will also call the students parents if it involved a bigger discipline issue. The teachers are very professional and helpful. They are confident without being arrogant. Nobody can expect to have all the answers, so if a student asks a real stinker, these professional teacher should be able to admit defeat but offer to find out more for the student. And they must carry that promise out. Besides, they follow the syllabus and at the time, they ensure that the students understand what had been taught. Being in this school for 5 days, the teachers had been giving me a full cooperation to help me in collecting related data. They are not stingy in sharing their experience and knowledge that they have about life and teaching profession. I gained a lot of new inputs after interacting with them for five days Through this experience, I become more responsible and passionate towards teaching profession. I began to realize that a responsibility of teachers towards developing the full potential of a student is huge. This is because they spend most of their time in the school. It is inevitable that there will be a lot of challenges in the future that required a lot of patience and professionalism. Being a teacher is also about being a role model to the students, especially in terms of values. In other words, teachers should apply what they teach in the class. Other than that, challenges from teaching and learning new technologies also can affect teachers teaching qualities. Those challenges are not only from students, society but also from the parents. Therefore, as a teacher trainee, I need to equip myself wilth knowledge and any related skills.
