ASSISTANT MEDIA DIRECTOR JOB ANAYSIS:

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for all media activities on a group of accounts; developing the media plan; selecting media to achieve a given sales objective within a predetermined budget; supervising others. DUTIES: To works with account teams to develop media strategy briefs. To learn all phases of the clients marketing objectives. To prepare and present media plans, as needed, including objectives, strategy, rationale, and all backup materials. To supervise the execution of media plans, including preparation of media budgets, schedules of insertions, contracts, and supporting materials. To prepare media authorizations per approved plans/project requests. To prepare buy releases upon client authorizations. To prepare budget recaps for clients. To train and supervise buyers and planners in all media (network and spot TV/R; consumer and trade magazines; newspapers; outdoor; direct marketing; etc.) To monitor broadcast buyers during the negotiations process and checks final buys for adherence to guidelines. To participate in new business project assignments. To assist accounting department in reconciling variances and assuring proper payments. To act as primary negotiator and coordinator with sales representatives for merchandising assistance, readership study results, and other miscellaneous activities.

To maintain close contact with all media representatives seeking ways to better communicate with buying influence and seeking detailed information on market conditions. To attend outside representations by the media for the purpose of evaluating new information/services and to maintain good rapport with sales representatives; maintains a high professional profile. JOB SPECIFICATION: QUALIFICATION: Bachelors degree in advertising, communication studies, mass media, marketing. Internships with media or advertising agencies during college. Familiarity with a variety of web programming tools example:- dreamviewer, photoshop and any number of enterprise with content management packages, and experience coordination online communications/ marketing campaign for organizations using facebook, twitter, linkedin and other social media. Demonstrated commitment to diversity.

EXPERIENCE: 3 or more years. SKILLS: High proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Candidates should be detail-oriented, highly organized, creative and analytical. Must be flexible and able to work well under tight deadlines. Excellent NEGOTIATION, ORAL AND WRITTEN communication skills are highly desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Helping our planners develop, deliver and buy integrated media plans. Actively supporting our automated media planning activities with problem solving and client specific services. Assisting in the design and development of next generation services and solutions. Assisting in sourcing and analyzing competing media opportunities.
