Church Service to Celebrate IHC Pre-Ks 30th Anniversary

On Sunday, Apr 21st, at 11 a.m., Watertowns four Catholic parishes will celebrate the 30 th anniversary of IHCs St. John Bosco Pre-School. Holy Family Church will host the celebration Mass. Watertown, NY, April 15, 2013 On Sunday, April 21st, Watertowns four Catholic parishes will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Immaculate Heart Central Schools St. John Bosco Pre-School. A celebratory mass will be held at Holy Family Church at 11:00 a.m. Past and present alumni, and the public, are invited to attend this special service. A small reception will follow. We really have cause to celebrate, says Gary West, Principal of IHC Elementary. Over the yea rs, hundreds of children have been touched by Mrs. Terry Ranger, the programs first teacher. Terry is still running the Pre-K, and many of our parents were her students years ago! The St. John Bosco Pre-School offers a range of programs for 3, 4, and 5-year old children. Last year, in addition to its traditional programs, it offered a five-day per week, half-day program for four year olds. This year, the school is offering the areas first Junior Kindergarten program, a full-day program for young 5-year olds and 4 year olds. The Junior Kindergarten program is really aimed at those children who are eligible for kindergarten but just need the gift of time," said West in a recent interview. IHCs pre-school is modeled after the practices and work of St. John Bosco, ordained in 1841, who believed in placing children in positive surroundings where they could grow in all areas of development. 1
