RECAP: The Rainiers scored 5 runs in the top of the 11th inning as Tacoma lost to Fresno 6-11 on Thursday night. Tacoma held a 1-run
lead heading into the 9th inning, but allowed Fresno to score 2 runs and take a 6-5 lead. In the bottom 1B Scott Savastano (0x4, 2 RBI, BB,
SF) hit a game-tying sacrifice fly to tie the game. Starter Brian Sweeney (4.0,6,4,4,1,2,HR) allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in 4.0 innings, but
didnt figure into the decision. Relievers Bobby LaFromboise (2.0,3,0,0,0,4) and Danny Farquhar (2.0,0,0,0,0,2) each tossed 2.0
scoreless innings in relief. LF Lucas Luetge (2.0,3,2,2,1,4) was charged with 2 runs in the top of the 9th inning, while LH Brian Moran
(1.0,7,5,5,0,1) was tagged with the loss after allowing 5 runs on 7 hits in the 11th inning. 2B Carlos Triunfel (3x6, 2B, 2 RBI) led the team
with 3 hits. SS Nick Franklin (1x3, 2 R, HR, RBI, BB) hit his 2nd home run of the season, a solo shot with 1 out in the 6th inning.
OF NOTE: INF Nick Frankin has hit safely in 8 of 9 games to start the season, batting .333 (11x33) with 8 runs, 1 double, 2 home runs, 7
RBI and 5 walks. OF Eric Thames is the only player in the league to reach base safely in each of his teams first 15 games this season,

base and 8 walks. Zunino became the first Rainiers player since second baseman Dustin Ackley to have his first Triple-A hit go for a home
run on Thursday night. Ackley hit a solo homer in first Tacoma at-bat on July 15, 2010 at Reno. The Rainiers begin the season with 4 of the
top 5 prospects in the Mariners farm system, as ranked by Baseball America. Catcher Mike Zunino (No. 1), pitchers Danny Hultzen (No.
3) and James Paxton (No. 4), and infielder Nick Franklin (No. 5) all sit atop BAs list entering the 2013 season.
HITTING FOR THE CYCLE: Shortstop Carlos Triunfel recorded 5 hits, including hitting for the cycle as AAA Tacoma shutout Fresno 8-0
on Wednesday night. Singling on the first pitch he saw in the fifth inning, Triunfel completed Tacomas first cycle since Raul Ibaez
accomplished the feat on Aug. 19, 1997 vs. Albuquerque. He also is the first player in the Pacific Coast League to cycle since Nashvilles
Caleb Gindl on July 10, 2011, also against Albuquerque. Triunfel achieved the act in his first 4 at-bats of the game. He tripled with one out
in the first inning, led off the bottom of the third with a double, then homered in the fourth. He completed the cycle in the fifth inning after
lining a single down the right field line. Triunfel snapped an 0-for-20 stretch coming into the game and was the first Rainiers player since
Michael Saunders on July 30, 2011 vs. Las Vegas to record 5 hits in a game.

SUSPENDED - RAIN
RECAP: With no outs and 2 runners on for Jackson in the top of the 6th inning, rain suspended the
Generals and Braves tied at 4-4 on Thursday night. Play will resume today at Trustmark Park at
5:30 p.m. with the regularly scheduled game 5 of the series to follow. Both the resumption of
Thursdays game and Fridays regularly scheduled game will be 9.0 inning games. With the wind
blowing at 25 mph out to left the Generals and Braves combined for 6 runs in the first inning. SS
Brad Miller belted a 2-run homer to left that gave the Generals a 2-0 edge. Starter Chance Ruffin
(5.0,6,4,0,1,1) will not factor into the decision after giving up 4 unearned runs on 6 hits, walking 1
and striking out 1. When the game resumes tonight John Hicks will be at third base and James
Jones will be a first, with no outs in the top of the 6th. Each singled against Braves reliever Pat
Egan.
OF NOTE: INF Gabriel Noriega has hit safely each of the last 4 games he has appeared, batting
.429 (6x14) with 1 run scored, 1 triple and 3 RBI. C John Hicks has recorded 2 hit in 4 of the last 5

Noesi swept the first Southern League weekly awards of the season. Miller was named the
Southern League Hitter of the Week and Noesi the Southern League Pitcher of the Week.
RECAP: High Desert allowed 5 runs combined in the 2nd and 3rd innings and lost to Rancho Cucamonga 3-6 on Thursday night. Starter
Jordan Shipers (5.2,8,5,4,1,3,HR) recorded his 2nd loss of the season, allowing 5 runs (4 ER) on 8 hits in 5.2 innings. RH Seon Gi Kim
(1.1,0,0,0,0,0) retired all 4 batters faced, while RH George Mieses (1.0,1,1,1,1,1,1) allowed a run in the bottom the 8th inning. SS Chris

POSTPONED RAIN
RECAP: The series opener between Clinton and Wisconsin was postponed due to wet grounds.
The two teams, who met in the 2012 Western Division Finals, will pick up action on tonight at
Ashford University Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM CT. Clinton and Wisconsin will play
a doubleheader Saturday with game one set to begin at 4:00 PM CT. Game two will start
approximately one half-hour after the conclusion of game one.
OF NOTE: OF Dario Pizzano has hit safely in each of the last 9 games he has appeared, batting
