The ILM Level 5 in Management has been specifically designed for middle managers with a wide span of control

and accountability for performance, in particular those with responsibility for determining resource allocation and operational methods in their department or organisation. Management and leadership skills have a major impact on the development, productively and performance of organisations of all sizes and across all sectors of the economy. In todays competitive environment it is necessary to drive up the performance of the best leaders and to address weaknesses in Management and Leadership that are holding back productively and performance. The existing workforce needs to be up skilled and new people attracted into these jobs to meet the increasing demand for new management practices and a range of skills, including: Leadership skills, including self management, relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills Communication and decision making skills Knowledge and project management skills Coaching and mentoring skills Skills to win and maintain customer loyalty Change management skills such as the ability to manage the challenges of globalisation Partnership working and the ability to implement innovative solutions to a range of problems. Course Option: Workplace training and assessment The L5 NVQ in Leadership and Management is assessed using evidence from the workplace. This could include observation, professional discussion, questioning/interviews/witness testimony or physical products of work (such as plans, reports, correspondence etc) Course Option: Apprenticeship Route

Assessment The L5 Diploma is assessed through assignments throughout the teaching of the modules. These assignments can often be used as a means of assessment for the NVQ. With BL Training, delegates can incorporate the Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Management with the Level 5 Diploma in Management which is delivered over 36 weeks for 3 hours per week. Entry Requirements: Should be employed in a management role to gather evidence from the workplace for assessment Literacy, Numeracy and ICT consist of on-line or paper based tests at the end of the training. Exemptions often apply so check with your tutor to see if you may be exempt from these.
