Tata Elxsi Ltd reported consolidated operating income of Rs 621.67 Crores for the year ended 31st March 2013, an increase of 15 % over FY 2012. The operating income for Q4 FY 13 was Rs. 163.43 Crores as compared to Rs. 156.67 Crores for Q3 FY 13, an increase of 4.3% on a sequential quarter basis. The operating profits rose to 16.27 Crores from 10.33 Crores, an increase of 57% on a sequential quarter basis. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), today announced its Intelligent Testing System (ITS) solution , designed to help customers automate the testing lifecycle. With telecom gear procurement guidelines delaying network expansion, a Parliamentary panel today asked the government to ease norms so as to ensure growth of state-run telecom firms like MTNL and BSNL. The panel said although there has been a stupendous growth in the telecom sector in the country in the last five years, the share of state-run telecom operators has declined from 34.69 per cent at the end of 2007 to 14.42 per cent at the end of July, 2011. Bharti Airtel, the worlds fourth largest mobile phone operator, said it had signed an agreement to buy rival Warid Telecom Uganda, in a move that will increase its customer base in the country by 60 percent. The deal with Warid, the No.3 mobile phone company in Uganda, will add 2.8 million customers to take its total user base in the country to 7.4 million, Bharti said in a statement on Tuesday. Reliance Industries telecom arm will use Bharti Airtels submarine cable network to provide data connectivity across Asia Pacific, the two companies announced today. Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, which had earlier this month signed a Rs 1,200 crore deal to share Reliance Communication Ltds fibre optic network in the country to roll out its 4G services, will hire capacity on Bhartis i2i cable network connecting India to Singapore.
