IOWA STATE SUPREME COURT I have been authorized to release the following on behalf of my client: !

! Today the Iowa State Senate Ethics Committee voted to refer the complaint against Senator Kent Sorenson brought by Peter Waldron to the Iowa Supreme Court for the appointment of a special investigator. Obviously my clients recently submitted afdavit in this matter was helpful to the Committee in deciding what to do. ! He has no interest one way or the other in the outcome of the investigation, just as he had no interest in the outcome of what the Committee would decide to do today. ! He will, of course, cooperate fully with the special investigator but has no plans to comment publicly while he or she conducts their investigation. The people of Iowa have a right to transparent selfgovernance as expressed through the conduct of their senators. The selfregulation of the senators is a matter for the Iowa senate. At the end of the day Mr. Parrish is convinced that full knowledge of all the facts will allow them to do precisely that and in a proper, just and ethical manner.
