Introduction The Information technology industry in India has gained a brand identity as a knowledge economy due to its IT and ITES sector. The ITITES industry has two major components: IT Services and business process outsourcing (BPO). The growth in the service sector in India has been led by the ITITES sector, contributing substantially to increase in GDP, employment, and exports. The sector has increased its contribution to India's GDP from 1.2% in FY1998 to 7.5% in FY2012. According to NASSCOM, the ITBPO sector in India aggregated revenues of US$100 billion in FY2012, where export and domestic revenue stood at US$69.1 billion and US$31.7 billion respectively, growing by over 9%. The major cities that account for about nearly 90% of this sectors exports are Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai. Bangalore is considered to be the Silicon Valley of India because it is the leading IT exporter. Export dominate the IT ITES industry, and constitute about 77% of the total industry revenue. Though the IT ITES sector is export driven, the domestic market is also significant with a robust revenue growth. The industrys share of total Indian exports (merchandise plus services) increased from less than 4% in FY1998 to about 25% in FY2012. According to Gartner, the "Top Five Indian IT Services Providers" are Tata Consultancy

Services, Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro and HCL Technologies. This sector has also led to massive employment generation. The industry continues to be a net employment generator - expected to add 230,000 jobs in FY2012, thus providing direct employment to about 2.8 million, and indirectly employing 8.9 million people. Generally dominant player in the global outsourcing sector. However, the sector continues to face challenges of competitiveness in the globalized world, particularly from countries like China and Philippines. India's growing stature in the Information Age enabled it to form close ties with both the United States of America and the European Union. However, the recent global financial crises has deeply impacted the Indian IT companies as well as global companies. As a result hiring has dropped sharply, and employees are looking at different sectors like the financial service, telecommunications, and manufacturing industries, which have been growing phenomenally over the last few years. India's IT Services

Dayananda Sagar Business School

industry was born in Mumbai in 1967 with the establishment of Tata Group in partnership with Burroughs. The first software export zone SEEPZ was set up here way back in 1973, the old avatar of the modern day IT park. More than 80 percent of the country's software exports happened out of SEEPZ, Mumbai in 80s.

History of IT Industry in India: The Indian Government acquired the EVS EM computers from the Soviet Union, which were used in large companies and research laboratories. In 1968 Tata Consultancy Servicesestablished inSEEPZ, Mumbai by the Tata Groupwere the country's largest software producers during the 1960s. As an outcome of the various policies of Jawaharlal Nehru (office: 15 August 1947 27 May 1964) the economically beleaguered country was able to build a large scientific workforce, third in numbers only to that of the United States of America and the Soviet Union. On 18 August 1951 the minister of education Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, inaugurated the Indian Institute of

Technology at Kharagpur in West Bengal. Possibly modeled after the Massachusetts Institute of Technology these institutions were conceived by a 22 member committee of scholars and entrepreneurs under the chairmanship of N. R. Sarkar. Relaxed immigration laws in the United States of America (1965) attracted a number of skilled Indian professionals aiming for research. By 1960 as many as 10,000 Indians were estimated to have settled in the US. By the 1980s a number of engineers from India were seeking employment in other countries. In response, the Indian companies realigned wages to retain their experienced staff. In the Encyclopedia of India, Kamdar (2006) reports on the role of Indian immigrants (1980 - early 1990s) in promoting technologydriven growth:

The ground work and focal point for the development of the information technology industry in India was led by the Electronics Commission in the early 1970's. The driving force was India's most esteemed scientific and technology policy leader M. G. K. Menon. With the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under project

Dayananda Sagar Business School

IND/73/001, the Electronics Commission formulated a strategy and master plan for regional computing centers, each to have a specific purpose as well as to serve as a hub for manpower development and to spur the propagation of informatics in local economies. The first center, the National Centre for Software Development and Computing Techniques (from 1973 onward) was at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai and was focused on software development. A key decision of the strategy was to not focus on large-scale hardware production but rather intellectual capital and knowledge development. The success of this decision can be seen in the global leadership of Indian entrepreneurs and computer scientists in software development. Jack Fenster stock of the United States was the program manager on behalf of the UNDP and the key advisor to the Indian Government for the implementation of the master plan.

The National Informatics Centre was established in March 1975. The inception of The Computer Maintenance Company (CMC) followed in October 1976. During 1977-1980 the country's Information Technology companies Tata Infotech, Patni Computer Systems and Wipro had become visible. The 'microchip revolution' of the 1980s had convinced both Indira Gandhi and her successor Rajiv Gandhi that electronics and telecommunications were vital to India's growth and development. MTNL underwent technological improvements. During 1986-1987, the Indian government embarked upon the creation of three wide-area computer networking schemes: INDONET (intended to serve the IBM mainframes in India), NICNET (the network for India's National Informatics Centre), and the academic research oriented Education and Research Network (ERNET).

Resent Devlopment The economic effect of the technologically inclined services sector in Indiaaccounting for 40% of the country's GDP and 30% of export earnings as of 2006, while employing only 25% of its workforce. Today, Bangalore is known as the Silicon Valley of India and contributes 33% of Indian IT Exports. India's second and third largest software companies are head-quartered in Bangalore, as are many of the global SEI-CMM Level 5 Companies. Mumbai too has its share of IT companies that are India's first and largest, like TCS and well established like Reliance, Patni, LnT Infotech, i-Flex, WNS, Shine, Naukri, Jobspert etc. are head-quartered in Mumbai. And these IT and dot com companies are ruling the roost of Mumbai's relatively high octane industry of Information Technology. Such is the growth in investment and outsourcing; it was revealed that Cap Gemini will soon have more staff in India than it does in its home market of France with 21,000 personnel in India. On 25 June 2002 India and the European Union agreed to bilateral cooperation in the field of science and technology. A joint EU-India group of scholars was formed on 23 November 2001 to further promote joint research and development. India holds observer status at CERN while a joint India-EU Software Education and Development Center is due at Bangalore.

Software Development Software development (also known as application development, software

design, designing software, software application development, enterprise application development, or platform development) is the development of a software product. The term "software development" may be used to refer to the activity of computer programming, which is the process of writing and maintaining the source code, but in a broader sense of the term it includes all that is involved between the conception of the desired software through to the final manifestation of the software, ideally in a planned and structured process. Therefore, software development may include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities that result in software products. Software can be developed for a variety of purposes, the three most common being to meet specific needs of a specific client/business (the case with custom software), to meet a perceived need of some set of potential users (the case with commercial and open source software), or for personal use (e.g. a scientist may write software to automate a mundane task). Embedded software development, that is, the development of embedded software such as used for controlling consumer products, requires the development process to be integrated with the development of the controlled physical product. The need for better quality control of the software development process has given rise to the discipline of software engineering, which aims to apply the systematic approach exemplified in the engineering paradigm to the process of software development here are several different approaches to software development, much like the various views of political parties toward governing a country. Some take a more structured, engineering-based approach to developing business solutions, whereas others may take a more incremental approach, where software evolves as it is developed piece-by-piece. Most methodologies share some combination of the following stages of software development:

Analyzing the problem Market research

Dayananda Sagar Business School

Gathering requirements for the proposed business solution Devising a plan or design for the software-based solution Implementation (coding) of the software Testing the software Development Maintenance and bug fixing

These stages are often referred to collectively as the software development lifecycle, or SDLC. Different approaches to software development may carry out these stages in different orders, or devote more or less time to different stages. The level of detail of the documentation produced at each stage of software development may also vary. These stages may also be carried out in turn (a waterfall based approach), or they may be repeated over various cycles or iterations (a more "extreme" approach). The more extreme approach usually involves less time spent on planning and documentation, and more time spent on coding and development of automated tests. More extreme approaches also promote continuous testing throughout the development lifecycle, as well as having a working (or bug-free) product at all times. More structured or waterfall based approaches attempt to assess the majority of risks and develop a detailed plan for the software before implementation (coding) begins, and avoid significant design changes and re-coding in later stages of the software development lifecycle planning. There are significant advantages and disadvantages to the various methodologies, and the best approach to solving a problem using software will often depend on the type of problem. If the problem is well understood and a solution can be effectively planned out ahead of time, the more "waterfall" based approach may work the best. If, on the other hand, the problem is unique (at least to the development team) and the structure of the software solution cannot be easily envisioned, then a more "extreme" incremental approach may work best. A software development process is a structure imposed on the development of a software product. Synonyms include software life cycle and software process. There are several models for such processes, each describing approaches to a variety of tasks or activities that take place during the process.

Dayananda Sagar Business School

Consistency in Software
In order to ensure that software can evolve in a way that maintains its inherent multidimensionality, one must ensure that the different dimensions evolve together in a consistent manner. Software has too many dimensions to combine within a single framework. A good mechanism should not be geared to a specific problem such as ensuring the consistency of a UML class diagram with the source code. Instead it should be flexible enough to handle the broad range of dimensions that are actually involved in software development. The sources of ideas for software products are legion. These ideas can come from market research including the demographics of potential new customers, existing customers, sales prospects who rejected the product, other internal software development staff, or a creative third party. Ideas for software products are usually first evaluated by marketing personnel for economic feasibility, for fit with existing channels distribution, for possible effects on existing product lines, required features, and for fit with the company's marketing objectives. In a marketing evaluation phase, the cost and time assumptions become evaluated. A decision is reached early in the first phase as to whether, based on the more detailed information generated by the marketing and development staff, the project should be pursued further. Because software development may involve compromising or going beyond what is required by the client, a software development project may stray into less technical concerns such as human resources, risk management, intellectual

property, budgeting, crisis management, etc. These processes may also cause the role of business development to overlap with software development.

Dayananda Sagar Business School

Software development methodology

A software development methodology is a framework that is used to structure, plan, and control the process of developing information systems. A wide variety of such frameworks have evolved over the years, each with its own recognized strengths and weaknesses. One system development methodology is not necessarily suitable for use by all projects. Each of the available methodologies is best suited to specific kinds of projects, based on various technical, organizational, project and team considerations.

(B) TOOLS:
Tools used in the study are 1. Percentage analysis 2. Chi square-test

Chi Square -test

A chi-squared test, also referred to as chi-square test or test, is

any statistical hypothesis test in which the sampling distribution of the test statistic is a chi-squared distribution when the null hypothesis is true, or any in which this is asymptotically true, meaning that the sampling distribution (if the null hypothesis is true) can be made to approximate a chi-squared distribution as closely as desired by making the sample size large enough.

X2 =
Where N = a + b + c + d

Limitations Of The Study

Time constraint- the study is a time consists. Awareness of the software to the outside world of the origination Study of software cannot establish that the software functions properly under all conditions but can only establish that it does not function properly under specific conditions

Study of Vruksh e-business Suites Software:

INTRODUCTION

Vruksh e-business suite software which is used by Vruksh technology pvt ltd. This software is nothing but a client or customer management system software. Most businesses today use some type of Client Management Software for keeping track of their customer information. Many are very simple systems that track basic contact information such as customer name, address, phone number, and email address. Those systems may be a card file or Rolodex, some sort of database or spreadsheet program, or software specifically designed for managing contact information. In a competitive business environment it is important to have a Client Management Software system that not only organizes the information for the contacts you work with, but also for the companies. Your Client Management Software must permit you to easily review the contact information for the people and companies you work with as well as giving you access to a history of the communication, events, and actions related to them. The first Client Management Software programs were simple paper files with the contact data (name, address, and phone number) of the people you worked with. Many business people kept this information in card files or address books. With the development of day planners and date books many business people found an easy way to keep all their customer information in one place, with a spot for short notes and a calendar close at hand. However, their Client Management Software was still on paper making it cumbersome to update and difficult to share information with colleagues. As computers and software took over the business world, they took over Contact Management as well. You could now keep your contact data in a spreadsheet or database. This made updating the information a bit easier, but could still be cumbersome to use and often took more than basic knowledge of the software program. With software programs designed for Contact Management, the business professional finally got a tool allowing them to easily organize contact data in one location, make it simple to update and record information not previously available (email and website addresses). The preeminent

Dayananda Sagar Business School

Client Management Software in this arena being Microsoft Outlook, allowing easy collection of contact data with access to your email, calendar, and daily task lists. Reviewing the history of communication you have had with your clients is a vital component of Client Management Software, and should be a simple process. When working in a Client Management Program, you want to be able to see all the activities related to a specific person or a company. The Prophet Contact Manager allows you to select a specific contact or company and see all the related emails, appointments, tasks and even sales opportunities. The Contact Manager presents you with tabbed sections that allow you to easily switch between viewing emails, appointments, tasks and attachments for a specific contact or company. If you are looking for an email from one of your clients just click their name in the Contact Manager window, then select the "Emails" tab. You can now find that email from any folder in your Outlook, and with a simple click open it to review the specifics. That message is opened directly from your Outlook. This can be a vital function of Client Management Software in providing a consistent and reliable history of your relationship and communication with a client. Client Management Software will provide your business with the ability to track the contact information for both the people and the companies you work with, it will create relationships between the two, and will provide you with a way to see a comprehensive history of activities in an easy to navigate interface. Prophet CRM creates all this for you inside a system you are already using, Microsoft Outlook. You can continue to work in Outlook as you always have, and utilize Prophet's advanced Client Management features to keep tabs on every communication and activity you have for a specific client. This can be an important advantage if your company is already using Outlook, as it dramatically shortens the time it takes for users to become familiar with the new Contact Management features. Prophet's integration with Outlook also eliminates the problem of having customer data in two places. With Prophet your contact data is on only one place.

Findings
Some salespeople neglect to update customer records. The software ends up costing more than it benefits a business. Looking at the current scenario more marketing effort should be done at the organizational level.. There is no proper monitoring of the software performance in the Vruksh technologies. All staff members agree that software is user friendly, faster and better compared to manual method.. In case of any complaints from customer about the servicing, then the systems plays a major role by displaying the name of service man who have given the service to the customers. The staff of Vruksh technologies is satisfied with the system.

Dayananda Sagar Business School

Suggestions: The organization can arrange some experienced staff so that it can get better output from the customers. Individual counseling should be done so that the employee can express their needs and requirement and necessary steps should be taken to resolve the problems. All staff members must be given the proper training about the software because absence of the software technician can slow down the work due to some error in software. The software will be more user friendly. With partnership with Android and iOS so the Vruksh technologies should have global presence and a strong brand name. Company must develop more software and application so needy customer can get their demand satisfy. The disadvantages of the software must rectify quickly and company should have a separate research unit to find out ineffectiveness and disadvantages of software. Proper monitoring of the software should be better.

Dayananda Sagar Business School

Dayananda Sagar Business School

Conclusions From the above study we can say that the Vruksh e-business suits system software is doing a good job towards the client management system. We can also conclude that the organization requires more awareness and services regarding client management system and should be taken as major function so that the number of problem continuing with the Software will be reduced. Surveys should be done so that the organization can understand the problems and get more number of additional features can be added.
