Playing with Khaos: Expanding on Sigils, Servitors and Shields (Part I) Domus Kaotica, Class A.

by Frater Sheosyrath (-8, 5) In this thread we're going to take a step back from the concepts and a step into the applications of KHAOS Magick. Practical Khaos magick does not necessarily require a Khaos lifest yle, although it obviously requires a bit of Kaotic thinking. The Khaos Magick formula is simple: Intent + {Action(s)} = Reaction(s) This is where the Khaos principle of "Everything is True; Nothing is Permitted." comes into play, because this formula encompasses all magick traditions; (to the best of my knowledge, it should.) I.E. Ceremonial Magick is Intent + Ritual = Result, Sigil Magick is Intent + Sigil process = Res ult. This posits that things like words of power and gnosis are not necessarily necessary. I don't think you can get much simpler. Chaos Magick has led many a chaote to this empowering realization, and some new methods of magick have resulted. But what I want to do with this right now is expand and/or compre ss the existing methods. Creative Action We've always held that the key to evolution lies in the creative portion of the brain. Some people will say that they are inherently uncreative, however I want to posit that everyone is cr eative in -some- way; just some peoples creative potential is more developed than others. Everyone has that part of their brain. And this leads me to the point of this paragraph; I think that the most powerful wea pon we have to increase our magickal ability is creative innovation. I am an electronic music artist, and I very commonly create sigils with music. I will create a 'song' that is a 'sigil'. The exact process, of course, starts with a solid, correctly phrased in tent. Next I simply go with the flow of how I feel and start to create the track; I often enter a light trance s tate during creation. (Cannabis induced, for example.) I then will usually either simply achieve gnosis while li stening to the song, or even most potent I will achieve gnosis through audio overload + dancing/whirling with the song/sigil. I believe this is a very - uhm, for lack of a better term, powerful method, becaus e you can then allow people to listen to the song without them ever knowing the intent, which can eit her charge it up for you or spread the intent amongst the unknowing. If you're good; well, people will WA NT to listen! Hehe Compression: On the fly Banishing Yes, I am aware that this is not a new idea, but it still fits the topic and I w ould like to advocate its use. Many people rant and rave about the positive effects of doing the LBRP, but, you know.. for us stoners, all those hand signals and words are just a pain in the ass. Through something I will call inherited experience we can create a banishment that consists of one hand movement and one word that produces the exact same effect as the entire properly executed LBRP. Of course, you must execute the LBRP a couple times, but 5 times can substitute 100. So yes, first you must do the LBRP . I would recommend doing it till you are sure you're getting the banishment effect, do everything y ou can; IE memorize and vibrate the words and all that. When you can produce the effect then decide on a shortcut. Decide on a simple hand movement and/or word to use. For me I draw a pentagram in the air wi th my finger once, and say Ablanti Josta Agla Caila. Fairly simple and still reminiscent of the ori ginal operation. Ok, so you do the LBRP and when you have that effect, concentrate on it, feel that feeling, know that effect and then preform your shortcut while you feel it and are concentrating on it. Do it a cou ple times then stop and wait a while, and repeat the process. I would say do it at least 3 times before you try the shortcut on its own. This should start to establish the link between that feeling and effect and the shortcut. If you get weak or no results from your shortcut, well repeat the process a few more times. It's important to also keep in mind just what you're doing as you do the LBRP, the purpose of you doing the ritual is to link the effect to the shortcut. This works for me, don't think it will, well it's ok, yo u can the LBRP 5 times a day. Innovation: Reactive Shielding Most shielding methods people talk about are fairly simple, just make a ball aro und yourself to keep teh evilz out. The more advanced shield might have spikes or extra layers, but I've taken this a step further. I use what is called a Reactive Barrier, in that when something comes into contact with my shield, the

shield reacts accordingly without my input. There are two types of Reactive barr ier/shielding in use in the mundane world, one is actual Reactive Armour in use on many modern battle ta nks, and the Reactive Barrier which is a part of a waste cleaning process. Both of these real world ap plications are integrated into the Reactive Shielding I propose. ERA is one of the more common types of Reactive Armour in use today, it's meant to protect against the more effective versions of anti-tank weaponry that make use of shaped charge pro jectiles. For reference, a shaped charge projectile is a warhead that is meant to embed itself deeply into armor before it detonates. Explosive Reactive Armor counters that by trying slow the projectile and lighten the impact. When a projectile strikes ERA the explosive charge detonates, propelling the plates apa rt against the projectile to damage and slow it. ERA may even completely destroy other non-shaped charge warh eads, such as penetrators. In a nutshell, the armor counter-attacks the attacker upon contact. Keep that in mind. This is a diagram illustrating the mechanism of the Active Protection System (AP S) although it is closely associated with Reactive Shielding. In the Arena syste m a doppler radar detects incoming projectiles and launches a anti detonates and destroys most warheads. Again, counter attack upon the incoming at tack to insure safety is This is a rendition of the last and most docile of the reactive barriers I wante d to discuss, a Permeable Reactive Barrier. I'll try to wrap this up as I feel like I've been typing forev er... The PRB is used to filter and clean waste contaminated water. It lets the water through, but not the conta minants. I think that's So putting all of this together, allow me to overview the attributes of the Reac tive Shield. - Seems inactive until under attack or stress - Reacts to hostile energy with a burst of energy meant to slow and weaken the a ttack - Follows this up by immediately diverting energy into sh - If conditions are right, the dissipating hostile energy can be filtered by the shield and used. - All energy flowing into and through the shield is filtered, it can even be des igned to continuously draw - No hindrance while outputting energy or trying to do things like astral projec t; the inactive shield is mechanism of the Arena system, which is technically an Active anti-warhead directed shrapnel blast th the point I'm trying to get across. active simple enough. ether, shielding energy from the environment. very thin and not noticeable. m that Anyways, I'll be back later with more. Comments and questions are of course, alw ays welcome. Peace and goodwill towards men! hehe! Playing with Khaos: Expanding on Sigils, Servitors and Shields (Continuation of Part I)

Continuation: Reactive Shielding So now that we've established the attributes of our proposed reactive shield, we 've actually gotta start making the thing. As one would think, this is a bit trickier than just visualizi ng a normal shield. I recommend doing the initial programming and visualization work in a meditation s tate. Start with visualizing just a normal shield as the base to work from, don't go fancy and do n't go big/overboard, in fact start with a thin but solid single layer shield. From this I concentrate/me ditate on the attributes and purpose of my shield, I go over everything, that it is in fact a Reactive Shield , and what it does, how it does it, and why. Build the shield in your visualization over the base, add the attributes in layers and firmly concrete it in your mind. * I failed to mention this in the attributes, so I will here; the Reactive Shiel d is always 'on' by design, however it operates at extremely minimal power requirements when it's inactive, the only power drain is the shield keeping a thin but constant barrier to detect attack. From here you can either trust yourself or arrange for tests, it's not dangerous as the Reactive Shield does not attack the attacker, but the attack. To make sure the Shield is always prope rly operating I always run a test function when I'm going into potentially harmful areas, IE I charge up al l layers of the shield for a moment and then let it fall back to inactive mode. (With the spirit of this thre ad, I'll let you know that I've simplified this to, like I said, the test function, so I don't actually have to actually concentrate on the shield.) Before I continue I'll say that the Reactive Shielding has even more application s and attributes that are possible than what I've gone over here, but this is the main concept. Hehe, I ca n't give away ALL my secrets just yet, can I? Dynamically Programmed Servitors This is something I initially came up on my own, however I have since found othe r people who have came up with the very same idea on their own as well; although I have yet to see anything like it be published. An acceptable definition of a "Servitor" would be "an independently f unctioning creation of the magicians thoughts meant to carry out a task or serve a purpose." Servitors come in all shapes and sizes, from simple one task then die thought forms to more complex personified s pirits, to group egregores and independent entities. Most Servitors are created with a given set of instructions and then set loose to fulfill their purpose, when they are no longer needed, they are don e away with and new ones are made. I didn't want to have to go through his creation process over and over , and I didn't want to do away with my Servitors because I found them much more useful with independent th ought, and that would be killing a intelligent creation of myself. =/ So I made my first DPS! A Dynamically Programmed Servitor is essentially a Servi tor that can have its functionality changed at any time with ease. Even the simplest form of DPS can b

e almost completely rewritten. I find it extremely difficult to change the shape, name and attitude of my Servi tors, so once that is established, that's it. (It's hard.) But if you're a good namer and like your Se rvitors, it's not a problem. The simplest form of DPS is the Properties method. Like what is included in a co mputer file you create a 'property sheet'. This works best as just a piece of paper. It would look someth ing like this: Quote: Originally Posted by Liber Sheosyrath Base Attributes Name: Artemis Form: Black Chinese Serpent Sigil: N/A (Don't want anyone invoking my pet :P - But make a sigil, it's useful .) Personality Base: Sly, devious and deadly and intensely loyal. Secondary Functionality: If preemptive measures fail to eliminate all harm done to me, the temple, the house or my family, then react with the full force at your disposal. From there it's simple, create the initial Servitor as you normally would. The S igil of that Servitor, which is initially defined on the property sheet, is the link between the Servitor and the Programming (the sheet). So when you want to make changes just take out the property sheet (SAVE IT! I had to say it.) and edit it (use a pencil!). You can add functionality, take it away if it's giving you problems and experiment with what works for you, and you only have to *create* the little guy once. Afte r you've made your changes just refresh the charge on the sigil, if the Servitor is an independentl y thinking servitor then I would suggest letting it know before you charge the sigil and update it so it'll be ready. Much more complex DPS' can be constructed by simply elaborating on this method, I.E. instead of simply using functionality descriptions, a truly advanced DPS would be written in 'code '. (Programming code!) This would give you the ability to very finely tune your Servitors function, all owing for specific responses and conditions. There is potential there. I don't feel like trying to create an example piece of code for you at the moment, sorry, but you may see a C++ tutorial for reference. This truly concludes Part I. (See! I was so not finished.) Again, don't be scurrred! It's only PUSSY! Hahaha <3

argh, still being editted
