May 16, 2013

Dear Families,
We would like to thank the MMCI Auction Committee for another successful silent and live auction. I was out of town and could not attend , but I heard the food was great and many families were in attendance. On May 23rd at 7:00 p.m. our Middle School Chorus will be performing at Frederick High School. This performance will combine the choruses from MVMPCS, West Frederick Middle School, and Frederick High School. Please come and support our MS chorus students. It is with sadness that I announce to the school community the staff members who will not be returning to MVMPCS next year. This year MVMPCS had to reduce positions because of budget cuts. These cuts affected Spanish, Special Education, Math Intervention and a Middle School Instructional Assistant. Ms. Tirado, Spanish teacher, has accepted a full-time position at Governor Thomas Johnson High School. Ms. Patton, Special Education teacher, has accepted a full-time position at Woodsboro-New Midway ES. Ms. Lindsay Seebach, Math Intervention teacher and Ms. Julie Desmond, Middle School I.A. will not be returning to MVMPCS. All will be greatly missed by the MVMPCS community and we wish them well in their new positions or endeavors. The following staff will also be leaving our MVMPCS family: Ms. Cheryl Banes, Art teacher, has accepted a full-time position at Monocacy Middle School and Ms. Cathy Cullen, Primary teacher, will be spending her time with family. Please save the date for our Parent Volunteer Tea on June 7th at 2:00 p.m. We love recognizing all of our volunteers for the time that they give to our school each and every year. It is truly appreciated by the students and staff at MVMPCS.

JOIN US FOR THE LAST MVMPCS COMMUNITY COFFEE OF 2012-13 TOMORROWFRIDAY, MAY 17, 9:15 A.M.

The last community coffee of the year will be held Friday, May 17th at 9:15a.m. I will be reaching out to all the newly accepted families to extend an invitation as well, so I hope any current family members who can attend, do so. I am especially requesting members of the GC and BOT, as well as all committee chairs be present. This will be a wonderful opportunity to welcome and meet the new families of MVMPCS.
As always I will brew coffee, and if anyone would like to contribute to the breakfast fare let me know. I hope to see as many of you as possible as we welcome the new families to our community!! Jennifer Nichols Community Outreach Committee

Have an enjoyable weekend.

A huge thank you to all committee membersSarah Burns-Spielvogel, Jamie Cristali, Erin Frank, Rose Rippeon, Theresa Shrader and Jennifer Villalobos. We also had an amazing meal cooked by Chef Roman Cristali who has donated his expertise, time and network of professional contacts. Thank you Chef Cristali! In addition, I would like to thank our amazing Emcee , Mark Lohr. You kept everyone in an up-beat mood and moved everything along without making us feel rushed. You were instrumental in making the auction a most enjoyable event for everyone. We also had so many other volunteers who have worked very hard over the last few months and on the event night. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I want to say a big thank you to all of you. Finally, thank you to all those who came out to support MMCI and our schools. Mustafa
