Cholesterol treatment and its steps

Cholesterol is a protein that is found in the cell membrane of the human body. It is transported to the rest of the body through the blood plasma in all animals including the humans. But this substance is not found in abundance in eukaryotes and prokaryotes. In fact it is completely absent in the prokaryotes like bacteria. However this is the most essential component in animals. It helps in maintaining the balance in membrane permeability and fluidity in the body. It is also required for the synthesis of several fat vitamins, bile acids and hormones. Thus it is a very important constituent of the body. The level of cholesterol that our body contains may increase or decrease depending upon what we consume. The major parent of cholesterol is animal fat. This type of fat is a complex mixture of cholesterol, phospholipids and triglycerides. Thus depending upon the food content, the cholesterol amount varies. When excess amount of fat is consumed, our body struggles to break into fragments and thus it starts to accumulate. This is when the all the problems that affect the body begin. Due to the accumulation of fat, the cholesterol also grows in content. This increase will block the blood vessels and disrupt the blood flow to the various parts of the body. Cholesterol can be of 2 different types and purposes. The first one is called low density lipoprotein (LDL) which is not good for health and the second one is called high density lipoprotein (HDL) which is very good for our health. Hence when one conducts treatments for cholesterol, the percentage of LDL and HDL are calculated and then proceed with the usual treatments. The method used to reduce cholesterol is by reducing the LDL content and increasing the HDL content. The steps that can be taken to treat cholesterol are: 1. Eating whole grain food like whole grain bread can be very useful. The whole grain food does not contain all the vitamins and minerals that a white bread contains. These vitamins will affect the body with abnormal cholesterol level. The whole grain bread is completely made up of fiber which is proven to be very useful to improve the cholesterol levels. Though it is not made of enriched flour, it is a healthy diet for people who require treatment for cholesterol. 2. Drinking red wine in small amounts on a daily routine will really be helpful to reduce the levels of bad cholesterol. The wine which contains anti oxidants will help to increase the levels of HDL and reduce the LDL levels. This way, the bad cholesterol is reduced and the level of good cholesterol is increased. These are just some of the steps to follow for treating cholesterol.
