Drama games and warmers Charades: Mime the phrase you have or the title of a book or film.

Mirror game: One moves and says what they are moving and the other copies and tried to keep up. Ball of energy: Throw the ball and say the word / ask a question. The catcher responds, and then passes it on keep it going, dont let the energy drop. How are you?: Acting different feelings and guessing which. The others guess the action Relay story telling: One person read the story and then tells another who passes it on to yet another. Intonation and meaning How many ways can you say where are you going? Scenarios: Take an everyday situation e.g. waiting at the bus stop, and act out what you would do. Functional Roleplays: Especially good for practicing intonation. Say it with feeling. Fables or fairytales: act out the roles and change the ending. Bank robbery: Court room drama with witnesses lawyers, judge and accused, all prepare their roles and then act out the scene. Alibi: Detective interviews each in turn to ascertain who is the guilty one. Miming a list: Given a list of vocabulary items Puppets (Sock, shadow, marionette): Take a film you know and make your own three-minute version using puppets.

Write your own play: Decide where, when, who and what the problem is. Plan three act; in the first the characters are introduced and we find out what the problem is, in the second the problem gets worse and in the final one there is a crisis and problem is solved. Take turns to write dialogue. Intonation Dialogue: A simple dialogue where you decide what is happening and the others guess from how you say it what is on your mind. Is it? Yes! Oh I know. I know.
