Voltage dip on the starting of largest motor shall be limited to 20% of the nominal voltage at the motor terminals by proper sizing of DSL conductor & cables for the given supply voltage variation Ambient temperature &. Relative humidity as per the site conditions (Section 2.2) The equipment offered shall be suitable for smooth, efficient and trouble free service in the tropical humid climate prevailing at site and "under the ambient temperature conditions indicated above for the different shops and areas. In hot areas (furnace area) of higher temperature conditions, the equipment should be adequately protected against damage from radiant heat and hot air.

2.7.4 CURRENT COLLECTORS Encapsulated/shrouded copper bus bar conductor system: The encapsulated/shrouded copper bus bar conductor system shall comprise of 4 wires suitable for single power feed to mid point. The conductor system shall be complete with all accessories like power feeding sections, expansion section, standard sections, clamps, joint/end covers, joint couplers, current collectors (tandem type), danger boards, etc. The material of shroud shall be PVC suitable for 70 deg. C. 2.7.5 MAIN POWER DISTRIBUTION ON CRANE i) An off-load manual isolator with locking facility shall be provided immediately after current collectors on incoming line on the crane. This isolator is to be located on the crane bridge above the girder where protective panel is placed. Power from the isolator shall be taken to the air circuit breaker to be provided in the Operator's Cabin / bridge panel. The breaker shall be with microprocessor based under voltage, aver load, short circuit and earth fault releases. The breaker can be closed only when: a) All master controller handles are in neutral position. b) None of the starters or directional contactors are in closed position, c) Emergency corner switches not operated. d) Door/gate switches (if any) are not actuated. e) Gravity limit switch for hoist motion is not operated. f) All overload relays are reset/not actuated. iv) v) vi) Power for lighting shall be tapped from the incoming side of isolators near current collectors. Additionally each panel shall have its own Isolator. Separate transformer shall be provided for lighting, control and brakes. Power for Power and Control shall be tapped after the power disconnecting switch and before ACB / MCCB.
