2.

Occupational Analysis (OA)

An occupational analysis is intended to identify the major competencies and technical skills and personal competencies needed by expert workers to perform their jobs. An occupational analysis is sometimes conducted using the DACUM (Develop A Curriculum) process. DACUM is an effective method used to determine the tasks that must be performed by persons employed in a given job or occupational area.

2.1 Occupational Definition NOSS is defined as a specification of the competencies expected of a skilled worker who is gainfully employed in Malaysia for an occupational area and level and a path to acquire the competencies SKM LEVEL 1: (Operation and Production Level)

Competent in performing a range of varied work activities most of which are routine and predictable.

SKM LEVEL 2: (Operation and Production Level)

Competent in performing a significant range of varied work activities, performed in a variety of contexts. Some of the activities are non-routine and required individual responsibility and autonomy

SKM LEVEL 3: (Supervisory Level)

Competent in performing a broad range of varied work activities, performed in a variety of contexts, most of which are complex and non-routine. There is considerable responsibility and autonomy and control or guidance of others is often required.

SKM LEVEL 4: (Supervisory Level)

Competent in performing a broad range of complex technical or professional work activities performed in a wide variety of contexts and with a substantial degree of personal responsibility and autonomy.

Responsibility for the work of others and allocation of resources is often present. SKM LEVEL 5: (Managerial Level)

Competent in applying a significant range of fundamental principles and complex techniques across a wide and often unpredictable variety of contexts. Very substantial personal autonomy and often significant responsibility for the work of others and for the allocation of substantial resources features strongly, as do personal accountabilities for analysis, diagnosis, planning, execution and evaluation.

2.2

Malaysian Skill Qualifications

Candidates after being assessed and verified and fulfilled Malaysian Skill Certification requirements shall be awarded with Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) for Level 1, 2 and 3 as for Level 4 and 5 shall be awarded with Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia and Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia respectively.

SKM: Level 5 Advanced Diploma Job Position: Senior Account Executive (Islamic Financial)

Job Description: Summary A financial Islamic executive is a senior officer within a company, a governmental body or a non-profit organization who reports directly to the chief executive officer. This expert is usually an experienced and competent professional who coordinates all financial reporting, tax, treasury as well as audit and risk management activities and ensures that such activities comply with regulations. This expert overseas all financial accounting and reporting processes or policies in Islamic regulations and terms. They were ensures that they agree with corporate guidelines, human resources procedures, regulatory requirements and industry practices. A finance executive also coordinates internal and external audit activities and ensures that internal controls operate adequately. A finance director also focuses on treasury, tax and financial management functions.

Responsibilities

To update accounting records in the computerised system to generate monthly financial reports, i.e P&L, balance sheet and cash flow report

Monitor and update daily cash flow position and other relevant forecast tools. Liaison with bankers and financiers on matters related to the Company's banking and financing facilities.

To handle the issuing of cheques, payment vouchers, official receipts and other relevant accounting documents.

To perform data entry for Accounts Receivables and Payables. To conduct physical stock take and prepare stock take report on monthly basis. To prepare financial analysis, budgets and projections for planning and controlling purposes.

While working in an advertising agency, the account executive serves as a liaison between the employer and its clients. projects. He coordinates work in the team, so as to make sure that all the advertising contracts and deliverables are met on time. He keeps an eye on the effectiveness and potential of advertising campaigns.

Marketing Account Executive a marketing account executive is a sales professional who is responsible for building, maintaining, and retaining corporate relationships with business entities which may prove profitable to his company. Along with building a good relationship with potential clients, he also takes the necessary steps that would induce businesses to get into a contract with the company, which in turn helps to boost sales and revenues. A marketing account executive plays a very crucial role in the development of products and services which can be competitive in the market. He also helps the management to conduct marketing strategies and campaigns.

Public Relations Account Executive the main responsibility of a public relations account executive is to gain substantial public exposure of the client or a product. His main aim is to set a positive profile and reputation of the client in the minds of people who can be turned into customers. And this would certainly be beneficial in increasing sales revenues. He has to act as a mediator between the mass media and PR department of the client via emails and telephone. For product promotions, he carries out press releases through different channels of the media.

SKM Level 3 Malaysian Skill Certificate Job Position : Account Assistant (Islamic Financial) Job Description: Summary An account assistant Islamic financial is someone who helps accountants or auditors manage the finances in Islamic financial, of a company or client. Account assistants typically are responsible for clerical duties such as typing reports, filing invoices, mailing bills, forwarding phone calls and handling client inquiries. Occasionally, account assistants will perform light bookkeeping duties, as well as follow up with a client.

Responsibilities

To receive and process all invoices, expense forms and requests for payment. Verify calculations and input codes in to the Accounts system in an accurate manner. To maintain and reconcile the Direct Debit mandates. To deal with daily transactions for the petty cash and ensure that reconcilliations are completed on a weekly basis.

To ensure all filing is done in a timely and accurate manner. Prepare cheques for payment. To ensure that all post is sent daily.

SKM Level 2 Malaysian Skill Certificate Job Position : Clerk Account (Islamic Financial) Job Description: Summary An accounting clerk performs a variety of duties from backroom calculations to front desk customer service. A clerk often is responsible for posting the day's receipts, filing and tallying deposits. He must also be detail oriented and good with numbers. Additionally, working with adding machines, calculators, databases and bank accounts is a regular part of the job.

Responsibilities

Performs any combination of following calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records: Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions.

Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts, using calculator or computer.

Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items.

May type vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records, using typewriter or computer.

May reconcile bank statements. May be designated according to type of accounting performed, such as Accounts-Payable Clerk; Accounts-Receivable Clerk; Bill-Recapitulation Clerk; Rent and Miscellaneous Remittance Clerk; Tax-Record Clerk.

2.4.4 Nature of work

2.4.5 Working Conditions Accounts Assistant generally work during normal working hours. However, in the event of heavy work load or tight work schedules, they may be required to work overtime. 2.4.6 Employment Prospects In the era of information technologies, timeliness and accurate financial information are required for decision making. Competent Accounts Clerk and Accounts Assistant are highly demanded to assist in providing appropriate information for decision-making in industry and commerce. They are employable in all public and private sectors.

2.4.7 Job Outlook With increased complexity in the business world, employment growth for competent Accounts Assistant is expected to favour the employment prospect of such competent personnel.

2.4.8 Training, other qualifications and advancement Candidates aspiring to acquire the competencies of an Accounts Assistant, will be trained under the relevant workplace environment supervised by MLVK accredited trainers. The minimum entry qualification is SPM or the equivalent Pentauliahan Pencapaian Terdahulu (PPT). Accounts Clerk and Accounts Assistant can pursue further training in the higher levels offered by MLVK Accredited Training Centres (SKM Levels 3, 4 and 5). Upon successful attainment of the above SKM Levels 2 and 3, they are eligible to apply for membership of the Malaysian Association of Accounting Administrators (MAAA), a sponsored body of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
