We have made dramatic changes since the days of Governor Bill Richardson. Our reforms are helping turn New Mexico around. And the people of our great state are standing with us. Unfortunately, our opponents do not like it. They have lost the debate on the issues, as no one wants to go back to the failed policies of the past. So, now the question people all over the state are asking is this: "How low will they go to stop us?"

At the end of May, federal criminal indictments were handed down related to the illegal interception of my personal and political emails. Those emails, which included bank account statements and clothing orders, were given to a union-funded PAC and ended up being published on the internet. They were even publicly released by the Democratic Attorney General, who is an announced candidate for Governor. The same grand jury that indicted a fired former staffer who I refused to hire in the administration, also indicted a Democratic political operative whose computer was seized by the FBI in the course of the email-theft investigation. But the Democrat was indicted for something much more serious than email theft he was indicted for the child pornography the FBI found when they raided his house. This Democrat operative, now charged with possession of child pornography, was the PAC Manager at the time

of the email theft for the now Democratic Party Chairman Sam Bregman. Not surprisingly, the Democratic Party Chairman is now refusing to answer any questions about what he knew about the scheme to steal and distribute personal and political emails. Sadly, this shows how low some of our opponents are willing to go to smear us. And that's why I hope you will help ensure I have the resources to fight back against their dirty tricks. We closed the largest structural deficit in state history without raising taxes. We passed the most significant tax reform in a generation by cutting the business tax rate by 22%. Our agenda is moving forward from repealing the law that gives driver's licenses to illegal immigrants to ending the failed practice of passing children from one grade to the next when they haven't mastered the basics, like

reading. These reforms are all strongly supported by New Mexicans. That's why our opponents have no choice but to stoop to new lows and dirty tricks to stop us. And that's why I need your help today to ensure that we can fight back against all their dirty tricks. I am proud of all that we have accomplished, but we have a lot of work left to do. We must remain focused on pursuing reforms that will make New Mexico an even better place for future generations a place where every child believes any dream can be achieved.
