      Introduction

      Where is God when life hurts? When the world is so full of bad people, why do I have to suffer? God is patient with us. How can you disbelieve in Him when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned. (2:28)

      This book covers an area about which most people have very little knowledge but which is at the same time, of vital interest to all human beings. It outlines what happens to the human soul from the moment of death until the arrival of the Day of Judgement.

      It describes the death profess itself, the exact relationship of the soul to the body, the states of the soul after it leaves this world, and the nature of the ongoing relationship between the dead and those who are still alive.

      And they ask you (the Spirit); Say: "The Spirit: it is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with the Lord. And of the knowledge, you (mankind) have been given only a little."

      O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of God and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him.
