Non-gravitational units of force, Newtons third law of motion (qualitative discussion), simple examples Chapter 6 Pressure in Fluids and Atmospheric Pressure Thrust and pressure; derivation of P = hdg, simple numerical problems on hdg, daily life examples and consequences of P, Pascals law, atmospheric pressure, variation of pressure with altitude Chapter 7 Upthrust in Fluids and Archimedes Principle Buoyancy, Archimedes Principle, simple numerical problems involving Archimedes principle and buoyancy Chapter 8 Floatation and Relative Density Floatation, its relationship with density, simple numerical problems involving floatation, relative density, RD and Archimedes principle, determination of RD of a solid, hydrometer, lactometer 2013-14
