Almighty for giving me the energy to complete the task of completing this research.

Grateful appreciation is also offered to Rabia Noor, Nadia Bukhari and Shumaila Jaffery for their
help in obtaining the sample studied in this paper.
I am also obliged to my family and friends to helped me complete my research. At the end I
would like to express my appreciation to the participants who took out time and cooperated with
me on this research.

ABSTRACT
With all the recent advancement in media sector, then news channels have also gone a
revolution phase. News channels are now the first source of information for the majority of
Pakistani people. Individuals working as journalist have no choice but to keep up to date with all
the happenings around the world. In the present study 10 female reporters from different
channels in Lahore were interviewed about their occupational stressors and how they coped with
them. The present study examined and identified problems faced by female reporters and suggest
ways and means for resolving their problems besides pointing out future prospects for this vital
segment of the society. Through this study solutions can be put forward for consideration of the
organizations and institutions working with or on women rights and development. The study
proposes to determine the problems faced by women working as reporters and how they cope up
with such problems.
