Overview USD14.0bn of deals tracked in Q2 2013 1079 deals tracked from public sources in Q2 2013, up from 993 in Q2 2012 The average deal value of investments has remained steady at USD12.1m in Q2 2013, compared with USD11.8m in Q2 2012 The average deal value of acquisitions has remained relatively even at USD194.4m in Q2 2013, compared with USD194.1m in Q2 2012

Deals by region Asia/Pacific leads all regions with an average deal value of USD67.0m North America still accounted for the vast bulk of deals tracked, recording USD7.8bn, or 56% out of the USD14.0bn recorded for all regions Average deal values have risen by 39.1% in Europe when compared to Q2 2012 All regions have experienced an increase in the number of deals At USD62.5m the Asia/Pacific region had the leading average deal value for investments

Deals by sector Media, Ecommerce and Mobile and Apps have all recorded increases in average deal values of 121.4%, 17.6% and 18.4% respectively from Q2 2012 to Q2 2013 Marketing and Software and Services recorded an increase in the number of deals Software and Services showed a slight increase in the number of acquisitions up 1.2% from Q2 2012 to Q2 2013 The average deal value of acquisitions in the Media sector increased by over 900% mainly due to Yahoo!s acquisition of Tumblr.
