Only companies that conduct research and development can set quality standards. We stand to customer-specific solutions from process technology on a small scale to production systems in the medical sector.
Munich 1972. The Olympic slogan Higher, faster, farther is picked up by the entire city and inspires a young process engineer. Dr.-Ing. Heinrich Collin establishes an engineering design office for specialty plastic processing machinery, thereby laying the cornerstone for what will become Dr. Collin GmbH. The company of today continues to expand and boost the spirit of innovation that characterized the founding years. In response to customer requirements, a highly motivated team has developed a range of innovative process technologies for plastics processing on the basis of this slogan. The spectrum ranges from Miniaturized extrusion processes for economical and fast material development in fields of plastics and pharmaceutical products Extrusion systems for product and process development that have been optimized for minimal materials usage and time requirement while ensuring reliable scale-up to a production scale. Pilot and production systems for special and innovative plastic products as well as medical and pharmaceutical products. Together with customers, the company has permanently faced new engineering challenges such as the development of special films for electronic and battery applications or optical films for monitor screens. These activities have resulted in machinery lines that meet all of the requirements for development of stretched/ oriented plastics. Collin offers equipment for the following increasingly important fields of technology Equipment for stretching monofilaments and tape on a laboratory scale MDO-Stretching lines with a throughput of up to 300 kg/h TDO Laboratory-scale stretching lines for film and sheet with a thickness of up to 3.5 mm Multifilament spinning equipment for fiber technology About 10 years ago, Collin began to adapt its highprecision machinery to the requirements of the pharmaceutical and medical industries. This included creation of a highly qualified team to ensure compliance with FDA requirements along the entire process chain through validation and documentation. The company's strategy focuses on the qualifications of the individuals who form the backbone of the company. Particular attention is devoted to process technology know-how, since only in this way are we able to understand the development goals and objectives of our customers and develop machines that ensure achievement of these. This is how we ensure our future success and contribute to the success of our customers.
Constant technological evolution is a major concern that top-of-the-range specialists in development and engineering are faced with in all areas, be it in hardware and electric design or software development. Sometimes however, they achieve a small technical revolution. This is the case where the advancement of standard products is enhanced by tailor-made solutions to meet specific customer requirements.
Modern production and assembly halls with generous floor space promote both, the high-quality production of standard machinery and tailored special solutions. A machine acceptance test monitors 100 % of all functions and quality features in the area of mechanical and electrical design as well as in software development. Testing and recording all measurement data is prerequisite and basis to award the CE mark and other marks of conformity.
Customer service is a relevant determinant of customer satisfaction. With a service team of technically competent and continuously trained experts, we can guarantee that our products will retain the quality customers have come to expect anywhere in the world.
ROLL MILLS
Laboratory roll mills are machines for testing the quality and processing characteristics of polymer material by means of discontinuous plastification, mixing or kneading. In both, plastics and rubber processing as well as processing of ceramics or special materials, roll mills by Collin are setting new standards in terms of precision and reliability. Collins expertise will implement your concepts in projects, production, research and training.

The PK 40 and PK 60 are designed for production of small batches mainly in the preclinical screening phase. They fit perfectly to the size of the compounders MZK 12 and MZK 16. Completed with drying and cooling belts they build production lines of minimum sizes. For production scale the PK 110 und PK 200 are used for more then 10 years in the industry. When combined with a compounder from the MKZ series, melt pump, flat film die and cooling belt, a complete pill production line can be established. A touch screen system controls the process and gives a wide range of parameters for filing, evaluation and reporting.
