of 111

Description of application: lubrication of wire ropes in order to increase longevity. General information: CorrosionX and CorrosionX HD are extremely effective lubricants and corrosion inhibitors. Compared to other, conventional products, many advantages can be put forward. CorrosionX does not gum, does not become crumbly, does not melt and does go well with almost all other materials. The CorrosionX lubricating film is able to repair itself and, compared to other products, does not tear off when working under high numbers of revolutions and high pressures. Apart from that, CorrosionX offers an unmatched protection against corrosion and makes it possible for all kinds of machinery to be used in extreme climatic conditions. A municipal customer of our product, who runs a draw bridge, has told us, that the longevity of wire ropes submerged in salty water have been increased by 2,5 times. After CorrosionX has been applied on them, they have not been changed for dangerous corrosion anymore, but only because of their condition due mechanical wear and tear. Here too, the use of CorrosionX offers an enormous cost advantage. Conditions: there arent any Preparations: remove any rough soiling, if existent. Application: Should the wire rope be wound on a reel, it is recommended to wind it off the reel before applying CorrosionX on it. Previous to winding it up, it should be sprayed with CorrosionX. After CorrosionX has been absorbed into the wire (approx. 15 minutes), the same procedure should be repeated with CorrosionX HD so that the long-term protection is achieved. For even better efficiency we recommend our Treatment System. Processing temperature: +5 C to +50 C for CorrosionX and CorrosionX Aviation +10 C to +50 C for CorrosionX Heavy Duty Recommendation: In order to use CorrosionX in colder temperatures, simply warm up the CorrosionX container. Permanent processing temperature: -50 C to +120 C Increase of longevity: The increase of longevity of wire ropes depends heavily on the daily operating times and all other environmental factors, as e.g. permanent contact with salty water. In general, an increase of longevity of 2 to 10 times can be achieved. Removal:

Under normal conditions CorrosionX does not need to be removed. Should that however become necessary, different measures should be taken in order to achieve the percentage cleanliness needed. WHY USE Scandex FireX Akut? EDUCTED OR BATCH MIXED, FireX Akut IMPROVES THE PERFORMANCE OF WATER AS A FIREFIGHTING TOOL. Scandex`s FireX reduces the amount of water needed to knock down a fire, prevent rekindle, speed up knock-down time to reduce property damage and minimize personal injury risks, scavenge heat from burning surfaces and the air in a room. Scandex`s FireX forms a heat barrier on the surfaces to prevent ignition or rekindle from radiant heat. Five gallons of water, mixed using a 1% solution ratio of FireX, can do the work of up to one hundred fifty gallons of straight water. FireX Akut can immediately cool a burning surface and form a heat barrier to keep surfaces below ignition temperatures. The need for continuous application of water is greatly reduced. By using an education mix ratio of 1% with a fogging nozzle, the air is cooled rapidly. By varying the mixing ratio and hose stream pattern, FireX can be used in differing strategies for suppression and protection. Fires in remote or rural areas usually involve the transportation of water for some distance. FireX, at 1% solution, minimizes the amount of water needed to fight the fire and also reduces the time required for knock-down. Speed is always of the essence. The longer the knock-down time, the more risks there are to the fire fighters. Weather changes and wind shifts can take place rapidly, frustrating the efforts of the fire crews. Quite often fires in farm buildings involve chemical storage tanks in close proximity. FireX, at 3% solution can be used temporairly to thermally protect both A storage tank and its contents from heat and flames. USDA FOREST SERVICE APPROVED Heat and time are the two elements against which every fire fighter must struggle. Heat, because it promotes fire growth, personal injury and property damage. Time, because the longer a fire rages out of control, the more difficult it becomes to suppress until it depletes all available fuel. The technology needed is a product that is more effective than straight water to rapidly cool the ambient temperature of the fire environment and the fuel surfaces. WATER IS inexpensive and usually readily available. A lot of research has gone into the use of water in fire fighting. Research on new ways of delivering water to the fire, new ways of delivering various hose stream patterns to the fire, water misting to reduce radiant heat and the use of water as a delivery system for additives, such as foams and surfactants. All of the research has been conducted to create a more efficient use of water as a fire suppressant. THE PROBLEM WITH PUTTING THE WET STUFF ON THE RED STUFF IS A SUFFICIENT WATER SOURCE MUST BE AVAILABLE TO GIVE FLOW RATES ADEQUATE TO THE SIZE AND SCOPE OF THE FIRE. Water evaporates in direct proportion to the size and temperature of the fire. Water must be continuously applied to effectively knock the fire down and reduce the temperature sufficiently to prevent rekindle. MANUFACTURER'S WARNING RELEASE FOR PURCHASE & RECEIPT OF MANUFACTURERS PRODUCT USE INSTRUCTIONS Scandex`s FireX Akut was developed for use by professional firefighters and fire protection contractors who are required to attend instruction and training in its use and application.
