Since the time of Shakes Sphere English was well recognized as an International language which was spoken by people all around the world. English can be defined as a user friendly language because its easy to learn and speak. Besides if you can speak English fluently you can survive in many countries like London, America, Australia and many more. Personally, I faced a lot of trouble to master this wonderful language because my parents spoke with me in Tamil since I was born. When I first entered the SJK(T) Mahajothi Primary school I was introduced to a new world. In standard 1, during the English period my English teacher would speak with us in English and I hardly understand what she tried to explain. Moreover, I had to ask help from my neighbors to finish the homework given by my English teacher. Until standard four English was a major obstacle in my studies. I faced a lot of problems to write essays because I couldnt even write a simple sentence without spelling errors. In standard four, My English teacher was Miss Rajamal a very beautiful teacher who speaks English fluently with style. She really took care of me and gave plenty of exercises regarding making sentences without spelling errors and writing essays. She thought me English til standard six and with her help I aced my English in UPSR and got A in English. Next I joined SMK Pengkalan Lebai secondary school. The only difference between secondary school and primary is that the English language was much more advanced. So, I had to visit the school library every day to read English books and at my house Ill go online to read learn more about English. I guess in secondary school I didnt had much trouble coping up with the syllabus. I was chosen as a school debater and I also took part in competition based on English language like Coral speaking, Drama and spelling bee. In SPM again I got a A in English. Then, I joined the IPG campus Ipoh. During the PPISMP we had 4 semester and 3 of the semester we had English courses. In classes we were asked to communicate with each other in English. To finish the coursers I had to search the internet and visit the campus library several times. It was a

tough task to complete but with the help of my English lecture and my friends I completed all the tasks perfectly with some minor mistakes. Now I would like to talk about this semesters assignment which is about Academic paper based on the theme of education. I selected three articles about Discipline problems faced by the students in Malaysian schools. Based on the three articles I wrote an Academic paper about . the academic paper was written in

standard formal language. As a result I learned how to write an academic paper using standard formal language. Moreover, I learned how to make good grammatical sentences with correct vocabulary and punctuation. I also learned how to include citations and resources in academic paper.
