SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ELECTIVE ART AT UPPER SECONDARY

Given the demands of the new ‘O’ Level Art syllabus, students need to spend much
time and energy pursuing it. The Art department seeks to identify students who have
both the attitude and aptitude to take art at the upper secondary level. They should
be well above average in ability their work and must demonstrate the potential for
future development. We look for students who can clearly articulate their ideas and
who demonstrate an overall commitment to the visual arts.

There are 4 criteria in the selection of students to undertake ‘O’ level Art. Students
must score a minimum of 12 points.

The 4 criteria are

1. Observation
2. Creativity & Imagination
3. Portfolio of works
