SHAKE2000 A Computer Program for the 1-D Analysis of Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering Problems SHAKE2000 is a Windows based, user-friendly

computer program that will help geotechnical earthquake engineers and researchers with the analysis of site-specific response and the evaluation of earthquake effects on soil deposits. SHAKE2000 is a software package that integrates ShakEdit and SHAKE. ShakEdit was originally developed as a Windows application that provided a graphical interface for SHAKE. It was originally conceived as an aid to the user in the creation of the input file and the graphical display of the programs numeric output. SHAKE was developed at the University of California, Berkeley, by H. Bolton Seed, John Lysmer and Per B. Schnabel. SHAKE computes the response in a system of homogeneous, visco-elastic layers of infinite horizontal extent subjected to vertically travelling shear waves. For more detailed information about SHAKE2000, please go to the Specifics page of this website. The development process of SHAKE2000 is ongoing. The program is continuously updated/upgraded based on input from users and developments in geotechnical earthquake engineering practice. Free updates of the program can be downloaded from out Update web page. The program was developed to work under Windows. Based on information from several users, the program works under Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP Home, XP Pro and Vista with no problems. Also, the program was not developed to work as a networked application, thus it should not be installed on a server. The program requires a USB Hardware Key to work. This key is provided with the software package. Free technical Support for registered users can be obtained by sending us an e-mail . Please, give as much information as you can about your inquiry. It is also very helpful if you could attach your input files. We'll try to get back to you ASAP. Please note that this computer program is not intended as a teaching tool for 1-D dynamic analysis, i.e. it is assumed that the user is familiar with the theoretical background of the analytical tools included with SHAKE2000. If you would like to receive more information about SHAKE2000, or have specific questions, please send us an e-mail . For current prices, please visit our Order web page. Software Applications for Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering GeoMotions is a limited liability corporation established to promote nonlinear effective-stress analysis in Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering. Our immediate goal is to make our flagship program, D-MOD2000, a user-friendly nonlinear effective-stress code for which generic sets of material parameters have been developed, available to the broader engineering community at a nominal fee. Our long term goals include continuous update of our programs D-MOD2000, SHAKE2000 and RspMatchEDT; and, sharing our experience and knowledge with the engineering and academic communities. We will be offering a short course on Seismic Site Response Analysis with GeoMotions Suite on June 9, 2011 at GeoHunan International Conference II.
