Clair, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago SECONDARY ENTRANCE ASSESSMENT 2013 INFORMATION BOOKLET YOU ARE A SUCCESS My dear students, I wish to offer my warmest and heartiest congratulations to you on writing the Secondary Entrance Assessment, a very important milestone in your academic life. Undoubtedly the SEA was an extremely important day on your academic calendar and it signified that crucial, yet necessary period of transition you have now come to face in your academic journey. The year leading up to this day would have been marked by intense preparations and you would have had to dedicate yourselves to your studies in a manner you may have never before experienced. Yet each and every one of you displayed remarkable discipline, patience, diligence, and endurance, sacrificing recreation time and ensuring that you worked very hard to attain the best results you could, and in so doing you have made me very proud, along with your parents and teachers. You have demonstrated to your peers and all citizens in Trinidad and Tobago that at such a very young age you possess the characteristics that make good role models and for this you must be proud. Now, you have received your results and you are now entering a new phase in your academic life, as well as your growing years, but I urge you please do not be fearful of this period. Instead, embrace it knowing that in life, we all have to undergo various times of change and development. The years to come in your secondary school and teenaged lives will present many challenges-academic, emotional, physical and psychological, but in the long run, they will all contribute to your positive mental, physical, educational and overall development, so face them with confidence, determination and conviction. I want you to also know that in these crucial coming years, your parents, teachers, guardians, the Ministry of Education, and of course, I as your Minister of Education

will always have you best interest at heart and we will support you in your positive growth at all times. I therefore urge you to continue to aim for excellence in all you do, all the time. Remember that so far, your hard work and determination, along with the great efforts and support of your parents, teachers and guardians, have brought you to this point in your educational and personal development, and you should take inspiration from their love to continue to do your best in everything you do. Always strive to make them proud and please, never fail to demonstrate your love, support and appreciation towards them, for they have been integral to your success. Remember that no matter what happens, when it happens or how it happens you must always believe that success shall be yours, for whatever your mind can conceive-you can definitely achieve. Congratulations and good luck to you now and may God bless you in all your future endeavours.

Sincerely, Dr. the Honourable Tim Gopeesingh Minister Of Education
