Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study

In the past, travelling was a leisure which ample people could only afford. Nowadays, Traveling became part of everybodys life. A person tends to travel in order to learn, achieve, or experience something from another country. Some reasons of travelling also include: the development of newer modes of transportation to choose from such as ships, aircrafts, vehicles that can suit their budget. Another reason is that some tickets today can be bought cheaper. A lot of travel agencies offer cheaper tickets, and packages that almost anyone can afford. One more reason is that it is now easier to travel than before because of the globalization of the society, we now have technologies that make tasks easier to do, an example is an online billing and reservation system that lets the customers choose the promo they are comfortable with, make reservations and pay at their convenience with the use of the internet. This system is advantageous to travelers for it consumes less time and it is secured. But as we can see not all travel agencies have

an online billing and reservation system. One of these travel agencies is The Nave Travel and Tours. NAVE travel and tours a starting business has shown the capability of giving this kind of services in the industry. Nave travel and tours is managed by Ms. Anna Rose Nave and is located at 48 Anabu 1-A, City of Imus, Cavite. It was established on June 2013 and is duly registered with the Department of Trade and Industry. Currently the NAVE travel and tours is using a free website and making their billing and reservation manually operated, thus, slowing the process time of the transaction. Having beginning her business shes in need of help from the construction of her site and the development of the agencys system.

The researchers are to conduct the study to find ways in helping NAVE travel and tours to speed up their transaction process time and lessen the work they will be doing for billing and reservation of tickets and hotel. This study is conducted by the researchers to understand the online billing and reservation system and experience how can an automated system works.

In this study, NAVE travel and tours could offer its services more effectively by having an online billing and reservation system that enable the client to pay online, and reserve online that is helpful to current system of the NAVE travel and tours.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

In order for the customers to save time and effort in availing packages from the agency, the Nave Travel and Tours needs a secure, efficient and accurate system that would be user friendly for the customers. However, The Nave Travel and Tours currently use a manual record of the reservations made by the customers that has a tendency to commit errors and cause hassle to the agency supervisor in managing transactions. Manual operations would slow the process of the transaction which is a disadvantage to the company. If Nave Travel and Tours continues to do their current procedure, they will not only be wasting time and money, which jeopardizes their overall efficiency and earning potential. Also, undue dissatisfaction could lead customers to choose another travel agency with more advanced transaction procedures. The group proposes to do a research, to improve the current transaction system of Nave Travel and Tours. Also, to develop a system needed by the agency based on the information gathered. 1.3 Research Objectives

Tourism is one of the Philippines Biggest industry and sector of jobs across national or regional economies. They need to carry out their duties and track their services with the help of a system that will provide adequate and up to date information in order to keep up with the progress. This study aims to develop a system that will improve efficiency of its daily transactions thus, enhancing the quality of service for its customers. Objective of this system is for the customers and workers to see and check

their personal information via this system. They can add, change and delete personal information while logged into the system. Online Billing and Reservation also aims to minimize time and effort. Customers wont need to personally come into the Travel Agency in order to keep track to the information they need to know. To easily find available tickets and slots for their flight and to reduce delaying reports and updating records. Our objective is straight forward and seeks to ensure we run professional and profitable building relationship with customers, suppliers and investors and developing business as a whole.

Online Billing and Reservation is now the current trend when it comes on hotel, country clubs, restaurants, airlines, travel agency and many more. It lessens the time being used in manually recording the reservations made by many customers and the tendency of making errors and mixing up the wrong reservation of different customers. It is less hassle for people who would like to make booking or reservations in a place that is far away from their place like foreigners and other people from different cities. In online billing the current trend now is paying through online with the use of their ATMs and credit cards. Assurance on paying their bills online has been secured by different software and banks. The purpose of building the Online Billing and Reservation System are for customers to make online booking and for travel agencies personnel to manage reservations and billing easily and properly on the web.

1.4 Significance/Justification

We want to know the pros and cons of using a manual Billing and Reservation and conduct a study towards the topic because we notice some of the travel agency still use manual reservation. The study will emphasize the effects of using manual and how an online computerized system could affect the business. Online Billing and Reservation system can help the people to perform a booking through the use of internet. The booking in a specific travel agency and paying bills can be done easily, no more hassles and time consuming. Using of internet access in online billing and reservation system, the different features of the agency can be viewed freely and easily.

1.6 Scope of the Study The scope of the study will be specific on Nave Travel and Tours online billing and reservation system. The proposed system should be accessible by the client both local, international and also by NAVE travel and tours. The clients are able to create an account and see the transaction. The Manage are able to manage the whole system and add, edit, delete, view the transaction details. The system is able to pay bills online through the use of credit card accounts. The system is able to book a hotel for the customer automatically after validating the payment online. Transaction records are stored in a database and may be use to generate reports. Client is to receive mails in validation of billing and reservation. The study is limited to other type of systems such as recruiting, payroll, inventory systems and other none related to billing and reservation systems are excluded to the study.
